Top 10 Test Batsmen

Bradman
Richards
Hobbs
Pollock
Sutcliffe
Ponting
Sobers
Lara
Tendulkar
W.G Grace (I know he only averages 32 but he fact he still remains such a legend says a lot about how good he was and had to play on wickets that were so much worse than they are today I believe he'd be one of the best in the world if he was playing today)

Right everybody, I'd be interested to see who you would rate to be amongst the top 10 Test batsmen of all time. Hopefully this can inspire some good discussion. My list is as follows

1. Sir Donald Bradman
2. Sir Jack Hobbs
3. Hertbert Sutcliffe
4. Sir Leonard Hutton
5. Sir Garfield Sobers
6. Sir Clyde Walcott
7. Ken Barrington
8. Sir Everton Weekes
9. Sir Walter Hammond
10. Greg Chappell

Good list Permstar, but why isn't Sir Vivian Richards there WTF?

No room for Richards, because I don't rate him that highly. All of the bastmen I selected were better run-scorers.

Ridiculous. Its not all about the stats you find on statsguru. Its the way he played his cricket that made him greater than half the people on your list.

Anyway, hate these things as I can never decide on a definitive list. In no particular order (except the Don of course):

Don Bradman
Jack Hobbs
Sunil Gavaskar
Viv Richards
George Headley
Greg Chappell
Garfield Sobers
Brian Lara
Everton Weekes
Sachin Tendulkar

ok here's my top ten batsman
1. A.Nel
2. S.Bond
3. D.Steyn
4. Malinga
5. Ntini
6...... ok you get the point i love tailenders :)

i made a mistake picking Nel he starting to become a seriously all rounder for South Africa :D
