Yeah the batting is pretty awful but when you say 'only' its not really reflective. Keep in mind thats an average of 36 over 240 ODIs. If any of those guys in the top order for NZ manage that over 200 games kudos to that..

Fair enough but what is disappointing is that he averages 55 in test matches which is a big difference between formats.

As for averaging over 36 with our current guys when they end their careers I think Taylor, Guptill and Ryder will do it easily. Elliott probably not.

Dilshan's been pretty hot recently he was due for a failure. Jayasuriya yes is terrible and should be dropped imo. Hold your horses cant make that second comparison yet not by a long shot. maybe in a few years. Agreed with the last one.

Yeah the second one is a little harsh on the two Sri Lankan's. But if I was picking a one day team from these two teams I'd pick Taylor over both of them and Guptill over Jayawardene.

An average of 36 is quite respectable in ODIs imo. Not many guys who've been around for that much average over 40 in ODIS. Ponting\tendulkar\kallis come to mind after a significant amount of games.

I just have a bad feeling about Kandamby.. see a big shot coming soon and giving his wicket away

He is basicly doing what McCullum did at the start of 2008 it seems - having a run of brilliant form and being able to slog everything with ease, problem is it never lasts. He will have to adjust in one day and test matches or he will start to struggle.

No way. I'd maybe think twice about Jayawardane but def not Sangakkara and def not over taylor. I'd go for solidity.

Nice call on Kandamby. It's good bowling form McCullum and Vettori though.

Why didn't Vettori come over the wicket before though?

Jayawardane averages 32 in ODI cricket, I don't care what your name is and what your've done in test cricket that just isn't very good.

And with Taylor and Sangakkara. I'd go for attack :D

Meh.. I just always go for the class and proven player over the rookie any day. In the words of the great Ron Burgundy 'agree to disagree'..

Hardly a rookie but compared to Sanga I see where your coming from.

I wish the commentators would stop banging on about the pitch not being that good for batsmen.
