This is such a meaningless series in my opinion. Sorry to say but I would've preferred to see a bi lateral series with NZ of 5 ODIs. I mean we played India last year. Just a way to get more money for SLC. Where ever India go the money follows. Sigh.

My thoughts exactly. At very least every team could of played each other twice. I am not going to read much into the results one bad day and you could be out of it.

I know aye. Whatever happened to day matches too? I can't remember the last time an ODI was played at the SSC. I mean we have 3 Test grounds in Colombo, all within 10 mins of each other. I guess in this case since its a short series it makes sense and its more fair i guess if all the games were at one venue. I would've loved a 5 match series with NZ at the 3 different grounds. Different pitches etc.. Oh well. Lets see how this Compaq (sponsors getting to be smartasses too with their puns) cup plays out. Will not give any indication as to how the sides will be stacked. Whoever wins the toss are 75% there to win already at the Premadasa.

Who?

I know Zaheer uses it sometimes :p.

Lmao, it's one of the bats you can buy at the store, I don't think it's licensed to him :p.

No there is PIL against it.

Starts tomorrow. Hope it does not rain.

Sorry to ask, but please can you tell me what PIL is?

PIL = Public Interest Litigation. Its generally a case in High Court concerning well being of general public.

Nopes I won't say that. NZ and SRL was playing for a while. Indian team was resting. It is a good way to get back in touch with competitive cricket ahead of the Champions Trophy.
Moreover, like dinosaurs, Triangular tournaments are extinct nowadays from cricketing schedules. So, its refreshing to see 3 great teams compete.
Just my opinion. :banana2

Good point about triangular but this is still a meaningless tournament. We have beaten both of the sides and I am also tired of us facing them again and again. Seems like we have two series against Lankans every year. :facepalm

i am sorry but the trophy isnt a very handsome 1
