Tri Series (India, Sri Lanka and New Zealand) - Compaq Cup in Sri Lanka 2009

Its nice to have a tri-series though I would have loved for the tri-series to have had two league rounds and then a final which would have been more interesting (Bring back those quadrangular tournaments, they are classic).

India should enter as favorites (we are No.2) and we have a chance to become the world's Number one ODI side if we win all three games, but we have the final jinx which we need to break. SL are at home and at Premadasa where they have a win-loss ratio of 1.91 (Cricinfo). NZ have won the T20's and have Bond back in their lineup. So all teams have almost equal amount of positive flow going with them while entering this tournament. I would pick India not just because I am from India but also because I believe India have the capacity to win the series. Eagerly waiting to see Rahul Dravid bat in this series.

Good point about triangular but this is still a meaningless tournament. We have beaten both of the sides and I am also tired of us facing them again and again. Seems like we have two series against Lankans every year.

Heard that SL will be touring India later this year for 5 ODIs and 3 Tests.

Nice to see Nathan McCullum getting a game. Tuffey in for Mills is the interesting one. With Tuffey's 5 wickets the other day and Mills bowling a few more pies these days I can understand the decision.

new ball will but thats noraml in a day night game!!! only thing is it will spin a bit more but if it rains then spinners will find it hard to grip the ball. and i say it will rain today for sure

I think that was about due to happen to Dilshan, so many times he does that and never seems to play on. Great bowling Tuffey, sensational over. He proves his selection was a good one.
