Hit a hundred agaisnt substandard bowlers in a 50 over match, could not be less applicable to Australia. I would select Karthik but using the hundred is flawed.

Sehwag deserves it because he still averages almost 50 in tests and his drop in form in tests wasn't nearly as dramatic as in ODIs.

I think Yuvraj has scored enough, for long enough to warrant a place in the Test side.

VVS doesn't deserve to be kicked out, either.

Tell me honestly that you have seen him play in enough 4- or 5-day games over the last year or so to determine that "he's just a lucky, substandard player" in test matches.

Jaffer and Karthik have done well for India opening the batting for India in the tests against England where the ball moves around with the new ball.
Their is no need for Sehwag really. If its not broken, don't fix it.

The ball moves in England.
But in Australia,the bowlers make the ball move even on the flattest of pitches where you need a stoick opener.
A proper one and not a make-shift one.

Indian domestic circuit is and has always been substandard.

Sehwag can make comeback against Bangladesh when all oldies would want to have rest. Maybe not as against Bangladesh guys like tendulkar can notch century and move away from Ponting who will 4 sure overtake him in this department next year.
