We Should File an Official Complaint (Response from 505 Games post 99)

Please go ahead and file a complaint if you are feeling cheated by them. Good luck, but looking at these concerns/posts - you do lack a strong base for the complaint to last long. Point to have in mind is, if they had guts to release such a poor game to the world - am sure, they are smart enough to expect these angry reactions from users and they would be having a polished strategy( like how they threw their own trickstar under the bus ) to dismiss all these. After all, they are in this game industry for a while and they are no newbie.

There were numerous 'safety barriers' available to you before you purchased:

1) The knowledge that Trickstar and 505 have handled the whole situation f*cking disgracefully (to put it mildly).

2) The advice of many others on here not to buy based on that fact.

3) The option to wait until MattW or Ross had paid, downloaded, played, recorded and reviewed the game, which was suggested by many as well as being obvious in itself.

If the above are true (which they are) yet you (or anyone) still went ahead and purchased it then you/they have absolutely no right to complain. Or get sympathy. Or anything else.

Biggs seriously old man I will not and I have sent an email already to all those whom I mentioned and that is what all I care about. You are an idiot if you think that I am thinking to blame 505games that I bought this game I am just blaming them to publish an unfinished game with lots of bugs.

I'm sorry. just re-read my numbered points again... this was all known, obvious facts before anyone had played the game for even a second. if you still thought the game might be worth even only $20, if you thought it would be even playable, you have nobody to blame but yourself.

if the game was going to be playable, they'd have shown game play footage.

you didn't need to crack the rosetta stone, you just had to apply a little discernment and critical thinking.

505/trickstar behaved shockingly, and it's disgusting they released this game. i am 100% with you on that, and I guarantee everyone else here agrees. but how you can feel cheated i don't get - it was obvious you should never ever ever have bought the game.

I dont know may be in your part of world you are used to be robbed by companies on daily basis but I am not and filing a complaint and voicing my opinion is my right and that is what I am doing.

When I am shocked by something because it is very bad I feel the need to let my opinion heard by those who did a bad job. If this is a problem for you then you should simply dont do it and try to ignore this thread.

no, I am just aware of the principle of caveat emptor (buyer beware), and I try to show discernment in my purchasing choices - red trousers aside.

look, if they had shown some good looking "assets" beforehand, if they had given a load of fanfare to the release, if there was a manual that made it look awesome, if all that and you got this game, I would support you 100%

all I am saying was, all the signs were there that this would be an awful game - and actually it's even worse than that, sure - but you wilfully ignored the signs.

I know the wave is going against the OP. But if I were a casual gamer knowing nothing about PlanetCricket and I was curious and bought this sham, I may have never ever bought another cricket game in my life. That's why Ross said in the other thread that this was the second worst outcome they would have hoped for

That is where steam only is the saviour in this case. I feel the general population who would by a Cricket game without prior research would be people who probably don't buy games off Steam (talking about my generation typical Aussie/British casual gamer who will hopefully see games first time at the stores). I am also hoping with Ross's relationship with EB games, if and when Ashes 13 comes out in store, it gets a non-full-face (you know the way they put the pre-owned games in sideways or laying down flat on the shelves) position, while Bradman will be on it's own display stand near the front door with banners everywhere. Going to check out my local EB today and see what's happening there, and ask about both games to the clerks.

Is cheating us shameful? Maybe. But you can't be shocked. If you had done any research on this game, or even tried to make a remotely informed decision as a consumer, you would not be shocked. It's your fault for not knowing better.

In fact, this thread can be summaried very easily.

Many here predicted this was exactly how the release would go. We told people not to buy the game, we knew this was going to happen. I agree the behaviour of developer and publisher is unforgivable...

But you being cheated was entirely avoidable. This game was always going to be worse than Ashes 09. I have no idea how you expected anything different. If the game was in anyway playable it would have been released on console. This is not condoning how you've been treated. But you have no one to blame but yourself. All you had to do was wait 2 hours for Matt's review! Or less than an hour for gameplay footage!

The best thing one could do on the Planet Cricket forum is to take down any references to this absolute nauseating horror show - No dedicated forums, downloads, mods etc., on this! There is better chances of us living on the moon than being able to mod anything to make it remotely playable on this shitload! To even think Mike Fegan and all those people at Trickstar and 505 would come up with this is truly disgusting! Yes, a complaint to Steam would be the way forward, but I find clearing Planet Cricket of any reference to Ashes Cricket 2013 is the right thing to do...sends across a strong message!

Eugh. You're kidding right? This is the best place to find out about the game so you don't make the mistake of buying it. Without a forum like this, it would be a lot harder to find out about the quality of the game

Retaining or removing game from here does not signify anything strong. We are one forum to discuss & debate, thats it, not the official sponsors or something to have any power over the publisher/developers.

In 505 perspective, I released my game, buy it or not - it is your wish!
