According to me its Punjab this season
They have lack of quality bowlers leaving out Yusuf Abdullah (who has replaced Taylor) and Brett Lee if fit?
and their other bowlers are very well suited for being hit
Irfan Pathan
James Hopes
Piyush Chawla
Ramesh Powar

their batting is a strong point with MARSH AND SANGAKARA AND UV!
bUT THEIR OWLING JUST SCREWS THEIR fearsome tweak UP

The Best team: Deccan Chargers + Luck,

The Worst Team: The Deccan Chargers.

:p

Mine would be KKR this time.Their key points last season was their pakistan players like Gul,Butt,Hafeez,Akthar, etc.I cant see them playing that good without them. And they have a very weak bowling attack leave Ishant and Kartik(maybe Dinda can bowl well but he isnt reliable imo). The batting is pretty week as well.Sourav and Hussey will be battling till the last just like last season.

Haha so true........:clap

The Chargers needed to be more dynamic last year, hopefully they go in with a proper gameplan rather then judge themselves on paper like they did last year. Fidel Edwards and Ryan Harris is gonna be good both 145km/h+ bowlers!!!

Ishant, kartik,Hafeez,Butt and Akhtar all were useless last season. Akhtar only played his 1st match brilliantly other than that he was super crap. Dinda was better than Ishant. This season team is much better than last season.

i agrre with
avro

this year there"s gayle available
and mcculum for full season

Murali Kartik was awesome last season. He even took a 5 wicket haul if Im not wrong.Butt and Hafeez batted very well too.I agree with what you said about Akthar, but having him in the team is a sure assert. You'll definitely miss those guys I bet.

We have
amny bowlers this season to replace that akhtar
We have
Mashrafo Mortaza
Moises Henriques
and
Charl Langaveldt

Do you think Mortaza and Langevelt can fit in the shoes of Akthar and Gul(who was a true match winner last season)?

I would say Deccan the weakest team this season but wont be surprise if Royals do end last.

Lol. We have a pretty strong team. And our bowling lineup is not at all weak.
Just see our frontline bowlers

1. Ishant Sharma- India's second best pacer ATM
2. Ajantha Mendis- One of the best spinners of the world right now
3. Charl Langeveldt- You are skipping the fact that his domestic T-20 bowling average is less than 17 and his economy rate is just above six. Can't say he's weak.
4. Ashoke Dinda- One of the most promising youngsters of our country ATM.
5. Mahrafe Mortaza- Although I don't rate him highly, he is not bad.
There, does it look weak? They may not be as good as Gul or Akhtar but they are certainly talented. What's more important all these bowlers will be available till the very last day of IPL.

And look at our batting,
1. Dada Ganguly
2. D. Hussey
3. Laxmi Sulka
4. Wriddhi Saha
5. Chris Gayle
6. Brendan McCullam
7. Brad Hodge
8. Debabrata Das

Does it look weak?
And we depended on Butt, Hafeez and Gul last year? LOL. We didn't depend on them, they were the guys who were responsible for our loses. We couldn't shake them off because most of our intl stars were either injured or unavailable because of intl duty. This is why we faired so badly- because of these utterly crap foreigners who are highly unsuitable in this format. But this year we are tremendously charged up, KORBO LORBO JEETBO REE.....!!!

And anyway, in T-20 we cannot predict who will be the worst or who will be the best. The burning example is last year's IPL. The Royals, the team which everybody thought will fair the worst, won the tournament, and the Deccan Chargers, who were everyone's favourite to win the trophy, finished the last. This is why the game's called T-20.

Lol that is what I too said.
Anyways Im still not yet convinced with that bowling department.
The shorter the format the poorer Ishant bowls. But who knows he might perform well this season.Hes a quick learner.
And its been about 4-5 months since Mendis was decoded.Hes no more the same Mendis who wrapped up the Indian team in the asia cup or his debut test series.
Mortaza cant be reliable too.
My favorites in that would be only Dinda(bowled well last time and has also performed well in domestic cricket recently) and Langeveldt.
Okay I now agree that Batting order looks solid with Gayle,Mccullum,Dada and Hussey.
But definitely they are not that stronger as they were last season imo.
Lets see how Dada performs without much match practice.Im looking forward for him to play a nice role this season.

You must be joking, mate. Last year we didn't have Gayle, Ponting (just first three matches), McCullam (same as Ponting), or Hodge (just for two matches). Only Hussey was available till the end. And look at our last year's batting. You will just laugh,

1. Akash Chopra 300 LOL's
2. Salman Butt ( Is he a T-20 player? Don't think so )
3. Md Hafeez ( One of the worst T-20 batsmen I've seen ) You should just look at his T-20 average.
4. Hussey
5. Dada
6. Wriddhi
7. Laxmi

Just look at the intl players we had. They are all 200% craps. And just look at our opening pair. I admit, Butt scored two fifties last year, but in 90% of the matches he played, his strike rate was below 120, in some cases even below 110. Is this a strike rate a T-20 opener should have?
