I don't think it is named after anything. They just called it the GABBA.

When I first heard about Gabba I thought it was a nickname for a player. Till I found out it was the ground. And that was just a couple of days ago.

maybe "the GABBA" is just a name like "Basin Reserve" for the cricket ground in wellington..

in the paper yesterday there was a article asking to drop katich and clarke bring jaques in for clarke and hussey for katich and let langer open and we will be tops, again.
