West Indies in Australia

Bit of a non-event really this game. West Indies have a long way to go to be a decent Test side.

Good knocks from Punter, pushing his Test average to 56.76.

Hussey wouldn't be happy with his returns, but he will be better for the experience and getting the first game nerves out of the system (they might pick him in the middle order).

Windies have to do something about the bowling attack, Bravo is a must, at least he can nip it around a little.

The saddest thing about this whole test is everyone knows that the West Indies can do better. This was a very ordinary performance even by their standards. Maybe they are just short on match practice or something.

Hopefully they can put up a better fight in the next match.

All it really takes is Lara to fire. Lara was about to do it in the 1st inns.
Gayle should go well in the 2nd test if he stays in. Hobart is quite a small ground so there could be quite a few 6s.

Watson out for two months

Pretty bad for him, but opens up a spot. I hope Symonds will get a chance now

'Gilchrist has suggested Andrew Symonds would also come into contention for the allrounder's berth.'

I hope they will. Otherwhile Hodge should get a chance. He is being twelfth man for a long time now.

I thought it looked bad.
Symonds would be one canadite but most likely Hodge will get in. Either that or they go for the long tail.

Bugger off, if they throw Symonds in the team ahead of Hodge, Hodge may as well start publicly denouncing the selectors and burning effigies of them, because there is no hope in hell he will ever get a game, unless he starts breaking legs.

Symonds batting at 4 scored 163 and then bowled 8 overs returning 1/13. I see nothing wrong with that at all. He should be given another chance. Drop Katich and put Hodge in then everyone is happy.

They will go with hodge, considering the 4 bowlers took 19 wickets againts the windies, thers no need for a 5th bowler.

Hussey is better than Katich, I'm suprised they picked Katich ahead of Hussey in the ashes.

I know, shocking decision. Only thing that saved Kato was his 100 he made against NZ early in the season.

Even though Hussey dint make many runs, but in the 2nd innings he looked like he belonged in the test team, more so than katich.

I don't blame Hussey it was his first test.
Same might happen with Hodge. Thats why it would be good to try Symonds as a batter again. Lets see if Symonds has got what it takes as he debuted in the worst possible place.
