West Indies in Australia

I don't blame Hussey it was his first test.
Same might happen with Hodge. Thats why it would be good to try Symonds as a batter again. Lets see if Symonds has got what it takes as he debuted in the worst possible place.

It could go anyway really Hodge/Symonds, they both will be a bit of a gamble in performing, but i think hodge will get it because the other 4 bowlers can take the wickets.

symonds wont get another go enless he bats like he did in 2003, and smashes 143* and heaps of other 100s

the selectors arn't in love with symonds , like back when he got that 100 againts pakistan in the world cup, his cup of love ran out.

You don't put someone in the squad so you can pick someone else. As it is, Hodge is only in the squad to replace one of four batsmen.

Either they pick Hodge or MacGill. Simple.

Symonds has matured over the last couple of years as a cricketer, he'd make a fine test player.

Then why was Hussey brought from outside of the squad to replace Langer? They could have moved Katich up the order given he bats in the top order. And brought in Hodge.

I am neutral on Hodge. But that Katich should be shown the door. He is making NSW look bad. :( And that Clarke better start doing something, he too is making NSW look bad.

Well i'll stick to the way I think..

Hodge is 30 right? He'll be making his Debut for Australia at 30, he has no experience at Test level.

Jacqeus is 25 I think, If we Debut him he's got many more years in him than Hodge, and he also has no Experience at Test level but neither has Hodge.

To me, Jacqeus over Hodge any day, simply for the reason he is younger, but not overly young like 22-23. He has been playing great letely in both forms for the game.

I wouldn't disagree with you there. I would like to see Jaques given a go against the Windies instead of a debut say aganist the English or India in India.

I hope our next Aus A side goes to India as well cause it would be good for Jaques to get a taste of their conditions.

The reason "Jacqeus" isn't playing is the same reason Hodge didn't come in for Langer.

It's also showing that they're not confident about Katich.

Well Ponting has admited that they are carrying Katich and that had Aus not have won Katich probably would have been dropped. By the sounds of that, it is likely that Katich will get another chance.

Langer ruled out of 2nd test, looks like Hussey will get another crack at the top order.

No question about it, Hussey will open. This will be the true test for Hussey. Hes past his 1st test now so we can't use that excuse if he fails.

It was in the paper today that he was still with the Squad, cause langer agrivated his rib, then 10 news just confirmed langer was out.
