West Indies in Australia

Really shows you how far Jaques has come this year. He will get one next time round. Probably be in the side by then too.

Victoria squad for the up and coming game against WI

Victoria squad Lloyd Mash, Michael Klinger, Nick Jewell, Brad Hodge, David Hussey, Cameron White (capt), Jon Moss, Adam Crosthwaite (wk), Shane Harwood, Mick Lewis, Gerard Denton, Allan Wise.

Australia's 12 man team.

Ricky Ponting (c), Adam Gilchrist (vc), Nathan Bracken, Michael Clarke, Matthew Hayden, Brad Hodge, Michael Hussey, Brett Lee, Stuart MacGill, Glenn McGrath, Andrew Symonds, Shane Warne

Simon Katich dropped, 12th man still to be named.

Very important match for Hodge, if he fails they will likely go with Symonds or Macgill

5 bowlers is a stupid idea, what if Lara hits 100+ and the Aus middle order collapses like usual, it would let WI with a chance of winning.

do you really think anything like this could happen?

Exactly that is why the selectors never use that. With Symonds in there he can keep it tight. The rest of the bowlers can attack and McGrath well he can do both :D

who would be your 6th batsman if Ghilchrist was to bat at 7 and with only 4 bowlers

My team would look like
Hussey
Hayden
Ponting
Hodge
Clarke
Symonds
Gilchrist
Warne
Lee
McGrath
Bracken/MacGill

Just look at 5-7 I would fear that lineup :D

I didn't see much of Hodge, but his figures are great. I hope Martyn will get a chance again in the future. He can prove his worth in the ODI's.

The windies are pretty good against spin (except for the tailenders) so I would play Symonds for MacGill.

If Pup can hit form then it would be 5-7 again :)

Hodge deserves his spot. His first class record is quite good. Better option than Katich. Hopefully he doesn't get a jitter of the first game blues.

Especially Lara, Bracken I feel would be best for the Hobart conditions. One spinner by the name of Warne is enough.
