West Indies in Bangladesh Oct 2011/12

Pathetic performance from Banglas. My changes for the 3rd ODI would be:

Shuvagoto Hom in for Ashraful (has an average of 0.50 this series)
Suhrawadi Shuvo in for Razzak
Nazmul Hossain in for Shafiul Islam
Shahriar Nafees in for Kayes

61 all out is pathetic from West Indies. they were 30 for 1.

Also Bangladesh has lost the series but with this match they have gained the respect back. KUDOS to the tigers

I don't think they've gained respect. They just demonstrated that they lost a series to a terrible team.

At long last, REVENGE!:p I am shocked after seeing this performance by Banglas. Is this the lowest total they bowled out a team for?

Mushfiqur Rahim (capt & wk), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Shakib Al Hasan, Raqibul Hasan, Naeem Islam, Nasir Hossain, Shahriar Nafees, Rubel Hossain, Nazmul Hossain, Shahadat Hossain, Suhrawadi Shuvo, Shuvagata Hom, Elias Sunny

Bangladesh Squad for Tests.

Bangladesh Squad for Tests.

Perfect squad. No Ash, Razzak, or Shafiul.

My XI for the first test would be:

Tamim Iqbal
Shahriar Nafees
Shuvagoto Hom
Raqibul Hasan
Naeem Islam
Shakib Al Hasan
Mushfiqur Rahim
Nasir Hossain
Suhrawadi Shuvo/Elias Sunny (not sure who to pick)
Shahadat Hossain (excited that hes coming back)
Rubel Hossain

So, 4 batsmen, 3 allrounders, 3 bowlers, and Mushiqur Rahim. Not bad.

I think shafiul is one of their better bowlers and ash was one of the few decent batsmen in zimbabwe.

I think maybe now bangladesh have a enough players they can start identifying test and limited over players. perhaps if they didn't keep switching the formats all the time then they would develop better mindsets.

not sure what to make of that result, bit of an embarrassment really.

Shafiul has been pathetic since the NZ series in 2010, Ashraful is only useful for T20s where his mindless slogging actually works. Deserves to be dropped. He makes 1 half-century in 20-odd matches. Let him go back to domestic and work on his batting.

shafiul was easily the best bowler at the world cup for bangladesh.

I would still drop ashraful because but my point was that I think he lacks a strong head and it would do him good to concentrate on one format. his best form has always been in tests so why not leave him as a test only player?

imrul too shouldn't be near ODI, but he has anchored well in tests (And odi's actually but it's only been useful when iqbal has got away and is scoring so fast down the other end)

Rahim should be batting at 3, he plays like a no 3.

I have to disagree with you on this. Imrul should be nowhere near the test team based on his first-class and test stats.

Heres the WI innings:

Watch Nasir getting Powell out. That ball was an absolute beauty.
