Believe me, this pitch is just ideal for Sehwag. Anything less than 100 would be disappointing. I'd say the same for Sachin, not getting his 100th ton here would be disappointing. A 300 from Sehwag wont be too bad either.

And how is that so? Do you even know how the pitch is? Its a flat road and its ????!! BCCI needs to step in and ban this kind of pitches which dont give result. Never has been this pitch behaved this way in Mumbai.

Aaron has a decent debut but I wonder what is West Indies tactics? Do they seriously think that they will bowl out this Indian lineup on this road track? Come on declare enough

Windies are trying to waste as much time as possible. They are playing for a draw. Anything less than a win against Windies would be shameful for India.

Only way this India can win this match is Sehwag. If he plays a big innings then India could overcome Windies score quickly and thus giving bowlers ample time to Bowl Windies out again. Lets hope pitch would break up and give some help to spinners

Yeah I totally agree.If Sehwag plays an innings like that 300 in 278 balls,India might have some chance of winning.And he also needs to boost his batting form.Since the wc final he has been quite inconsistent even when fit.This might be the perfect oppurtunity for Sehwag.
No way should India lose to WI.It will be a bigger humiliation than that disastrous English tour to lose to one of the declined sides in Test cricket.

No dude. Mumbai and Chennai crowds have been far different. You still remember the sporting reception and applause the Chennai crowd gave to a Pakistan team that won against India in 1999, the year of the Kargil war? Also in that 2004 test against Australia, Warne, McGrath, etc cited lot of complimentary gestures from the crowd for them as they were fielding near the boundary, etc. Mumbai also has been a much much better crowd (yeah once they booed Sachin, but that was a very isolated incident).

@the match: Tough to see this wicket breaking up. Incredibly flat, I guess thats why WI did not declare and want to bat as long as possible to make sure India dont spring up a miracle. Well done Aaron and Ashwin (and all bowlers who toiled on such a wicket).

WHAT????? That England series was a one off thing. India had been No.1 in test cricket till then (remember England took that spot from India with that victory). And India have ambushed WI in 4 days in both the first two tests. This pitch is a road, and it doesnt matter what kind of opposition you are facing when you play on such pitches and the opposition have good promising batters like Bravo, Braithwite, Powell, Samuels, etc.

Not necessarily shameful with a draw. On a wicket like this, lets cut the boys some slack. I would say it would be shameful to lose, but draw is not that bad. Till now, it looks like you need a timeless test to force a result here.

I don't even know how can you say that? Did you even watch any part of the test match? It is like a complete road. There is nothing in the pitch, and by nothing I mean NOTHING. Still all the bowlers tried really hard to get something out of it.

Ishant bowled very well throughout the day but he is just unlucky by not getting wickets for his hard work. Ashwin was awesome. Varun was on the shorter side at the start but oh boy he bowled awesomely in the second and third session. Ojha was good,too.

For that, WI need to have belief that they can win. And they don't have it in them. They are just trying to make as many records as they can on a road of a wicket and delay bowling to Indian batsmen.

Even if they somehow win from here, that must be due to the Indian batsmen committing suicide. I wont credit WI for it. On this wicket, India should bat for days together and not get all out.

They dont see the wicket changing nature too much and so thats why I guess they are playing as long as they can. They want to bat only once in this match. If they win from here, they must be considering it a bonus and a miracle.

Getting any team out for under 600 on this pitch is a tremendous effort. Congrats to India.
