Ashwin is Anil Kumble Part-2. Useful lower order bat, hard working spinner who doesnt possess huge turn like a Murali or a Warne, but makes up for it with a marathon effort. Yes its early days, but he reminds a lot of Anil Kumble (calm, quiet, thoughtful and yes, software engineer too like Jumbo).

Lolz Sachin missed the last chance of making a 100 in this series.At one stage ithough he's gonna do it but again fell short of a 100

Awesome debut series for Ashwin! 18 wickets so far in the series (with one more innings to go) and a half century here! Ideally this should signal the temporary shutting of door on Harbhajan.

Ashwin can certainly bat. He's one of those batsmans turned bowler by coach. He could come handy in Australia if he can get consistent 30+ scores down the order and pick up a few wickets. Technically he doesnt look like a tailender

Better sense prevailed in me as seeing the way WestIndies batted at Eden gardens, I betted on a draw. So, if no miracle happens tomorrow my analysis will prove correct.

I dont think so. With 8 wkts in hand...on such a beauty of a pitch ....they might enjoy batting the whole day by helping themselves to some lovely individual 50's & 100's instead of making their fielders/bowlers toil....

I hope he never gets it. It would be the ultimate tribute to Sir Don. 99 international centuries is almost as impressive as a 99 average.
