Styris joined Mcmillan and really was in his elements straight away and really looked very solid. I thought he was straight from the last innngs.

Styris even swept banks for a four.

The partnership between these two styris and mcmillan was dominated by styris himself.

But Mcmillan soon disappointed the Kiwis supporters by really slogging at Banks to see only Powell taking a fine catch.

Cairns jooins Styris and two really need to lift the Kiwis up, otherwise WI will bury them for under 400.

Styris does well to be postive as he swepts banks for a huge six.

Cairns was dished with some shot stuff which he managed to bump under also played some fine shots to score some runs of them as well.

End of First days play

At end of the first days play NZ are placed at 292-7 with Styris and Vettori at the crease.

Earlier Chris Cairns and Styris played attacking cricket to really put pressure on the WI bowling.

Cairns was particularly destructive in his innings as he striked the ball very hard.

Can anyone seen a batsman hitting the ball so hard

But according to me International teams value their wickets well so they really dont like to lose wkts in poor fashion, but today NZ lost two important wickets in ways of run out to give a fresh air to breathe for WI, Yes early it was Astle and now it is cairns and i dont know how they run like this. Any WI were happy with this, NZ were reduced to 269-6

Styris reached a well compiled fifty that really has given NZ some respectable total on this first day.

Well Mccullum has lot of talents and so far on this tour he hasnt done anything meaningful with the bat, and struggled today before he was snapped by Chanderpaul of the bowling of Powell. NZ were 282-7

REVIEW OF FIRST DAYS PLAY

Tony Cozier: Well we come to the end of this fascinating days play and I must say this game is beautifully balance. Eventhough NZ have made 292 they have lost 7 wkts.

Martin Crowe: Well i Agree with u, WI will consider themselves lucky to be at this stage, well anything can happen from hereon. I would have been happy hadn't NZ lost Cairns and Mccullum today, Maybe happy with 260-5. here is the parnership graph.

Cozier: Well it has happened, and lets see the batter of the days play, eventhough Sinclair made 93, my vote is for Styris, Since he upped the tempo of the innings along with Cairns, otherwise NZ would have been just 230-240.

Crowe: Well i agree with u tony, but u cant take anything away from Sinclair, played the new ball, so equally shared.

Cozier: Lets see where Styris has scored his runs, preety much on the pads, well the WI bowled mostly on the stumps.

Crowe: Well here it is WI bowling card for u to see.

Cozier: 30 overs to the spinners and even the seamers getting a fare share, lovee to see the spinners coming into their oown later in the match.

Well thats it for the day, do join us for the second day, hopefully WI will be batting by end of first hour, so join us tommorrow. bye, goodnight, sweetdreams.

Dont get disappointed buddy!! People will post.

You mught have some days without people posting at all. I had this similar problem. But people will surely post once they find it more engaging (i.e) when the match is getting close or getting to the end, you will see a splurt of posts! Dont get disappointed with all these!

At close of first day Styris and Vettori r at the crease, can NZ post a score of 400, its a million dollar question. NZ finish the day at 292-7

292-7 so far is a respectable score.. If NZ can get past 350, it would be challenging for the West Indies to take a lead!

How abt a screenshot of the Batting Stats screen of the New Zealand innings? Would like to know off how many balls Sinclair and Styris scored their half centuries!!

WI restricts NZ

Wi restricted NZ to a score of 329 after the KIWIS resumed their overnight score of 292-7.

NZ will be somewhat happy with the score and so do will be WI.

ALL depends upon how WI chase.

Styris was the first one to go this morning, when the attempted sweep lobbed up in the air only resulted in Powell taking a fine catch. NZ were 300-8
