I like the Sqaud, but could of have a few changes.

Chris Gayle (capt),
Adrian Barath,
Sulieman Benn, <I think they should of pick N Miller, better spinner than benn>
Dwayne Bravo,
Shivnarine Chanderpaul,
Narsingh Deonarine,
Travis Dowlin,
Brendan Nash
Denesh Ramdin,
Ravi Rampaul,
Kemar Roach,
Darren Sammy,
Ramnaresh Sarwan,
Jerome Taylor,
Gavin Tonge

simmon,Darren Bravo, D Barnard and K Pollard should of been given a chance.
but the above is still a good squad

Yeah the West India always lift against Australia, pre and post Lara....

In the test team? :facepalm

Pretty good squad with a good combination of youth and older players. Some guys I haven't seen too much of so will be looking forward to seeing how they go.

Shouldnt be anywhere near a test team, so far he has had a horrendous one day season at home. Agree with the guy about Bernard, could have easily and probably should have had a chance ahead of Sammy.

What did I tell you about Pollard becoming overrated :p

There seems to be a number of names being tossed up here for the West Indies, Bernard, Sammy, etc...
Howsie you care to give me your XI for West Indies for the first test, and a shadow XI that you would have picked to include guys that are not part of the current 15 man squad.

Well at this stage I'd be looking at something like this, of course I'd like to wait until after the tour game but here it is:

1.Chris Gayle (C)
2.Adrian Barath
3.Ramnaresh Sarwan
4.Brendan Nash
5.Shivnarine Chanderpaul
6.Narsingh Deonarine
7.Dwayne Bravo
8.Denesh Ramdin (WK)
9.Jerome Taylor
10.Sulieman Benn
11.Kemar Roach

Something like that. Brendan Nash and Chris Gayle could easily fill in 10/15 overs if needed to.

As for a shadow XI, I probably couldn't come up with one right now. But I feel as though Simmons should of been picked ahead of Dowlin and Sammy, he would of been perfect as the number six batsmen I feel. Would have loved to have seen Nelon Pascal and Kevin McClean here, but that would have been very wishful thinking.

i would go with rampaul over Benn. Spinners are usually just fodder in australia and used to keep the over rate down, only kumble has any sort of success there and Benn is no Kumble. deonarine and gayle will be fine, whoever is most economical as they're unlikely to take many wickets.

Hell No!! He is King of 20/20:p

Dare you want to have a go at post # 127?? Howsie already responded.

This is what I would like the starting XI to be from the 15 man squad.

1.Chris Gayle (C)
2.Adrian Barath
3.Ramnaresh Sarwan
4.Brendan Nash/Deonarine
5.Shivnarine Chanderpaul
6.Dwayne Bravo
7.Denesh Ramdin (WK)
8.Jerome Taylor
9.Sulieman Benn
10.Ravi Rampaul
11.Kemar Roach

2.Adrian Barath
3.Ramnaresh Sarwan
4.Brendan Nash/Deonarine
5.Shivnarine Chanderpaul
6.Dwayne Bravo
7.Denesh Ramdin (WK)
8.Jerome Taylor
9.Nikita Miller/Dave Mohammed/Odean Brown
10.Ravi Rampaul
11.Kemar Roach

Just about the only change I would make to the starting XI is the spinners.

As for the changes in the 15 man team I would take out Sammy and bring in Bernard and take out Dowlin and bring Simmons.

Dare I would go with your XI, except for Deonarine, there is nor way Nash would have a doubt or question mark in my XI, especially compared to Deonarine. I would bat Shiv at 4, Nash at 5. I would play Benn based on wicket and conditions, I believe that Gayle, Nash and Sars can do some limited bowling!!

For a shadow XI including guys not currently on the 15, again I would go with your selection, but for a couple changes, Edwards in for Rampaul, Mohammed over every other spinner and again Deonarine not even considered Nash all the way!!

Definitely Edwards over Rampaul if he was fit, without a single doubt in my mind.

As for Deonarine, I put him there just in case Nash fails or Deonarine does really well in one of the warm ups. For now that spot belongs to Nash because of what he has done in his short career. He is a guy WI can count on if things start going wrong because he is able to slow things down and dig in.

Ponting and the selectors have already hinted that Phillip Hughes will play the 1st Test against the Windies.

I think Clarke will miss out because of recent injury (of the 1st Test anyway) and Watson will move down the order with North.
