West Indies' tour of India (Feb 2022)

So the whole video was about how Bumrah have fallen off the radar only to end up being back him a little more. :p

Blame the injuries & the fielders. :p Chahal apart, he was by far the best bowler in South Africa series for us as far as I am concerned. India need more bowlers to be able to apply pressure from the other ends as well.

I remember something similar happened to Mohammed Amir when he got injured back in 2018 and he averaged close to a 260-270 with the ball but with an economy of 3.8-4.0 runs per over!

Things are pointing to the fact that even Rohit wants KLR to open. Btw still can't make out since Dhawan have just recovered from Covid so it was going to be unlikely to play him. Few more matches are definitely going to bring out a bit more of clarity.

I am officially losing my patience with Dravid- 10- matches,10 changes.

Why select more openers if you wanted to open with Pant? If India keeps experimenting this way, we arent going to lift the Cup in 2023.

Pant as an opener isnt a bad choice- but they could have used him in that position from the SA tour itself, right? Also, why have the like of Rutu, Mayank in the squad then?

Pant opening for India was something I wanted them to try back in the 2019 WC when Dhawan was injured. But very disappointed with the way he played. He had to attack the bowlers but instead he was trying to occupy the crease. What added to that terrible approach was Indian Commentators wanting to show discipline. I mean what? This is meant to be an ODI in 2022 on a flat batting pitch (btw West Indies have found some movement and they've tried to take their pace off the ball).

India as a whole need to look back at the approach they have towards the batting. They need an overhaul for sure!

I would rather hope to get rid off the songs that are being played at the ground. :p

I mean they sound so cheap & low on standards!!! :spy

I think the bowlers did well. Wanted them to try Pant as an opener but it seems odd to do it second match into the series. Why not play Kishan at 4 in that first match? Seems like an odd decision to arrive at in between matches. Even more of a strange decision if they move him back to the middle order in the next match.

Maybe the original idea as ironic it may sound to my post that was posted before the innings began- To have KLR in the middle order and include Deepak Hooda.

I think Pant did play well in South Africa and looked in a good touch in the last game. Also we couldn't have kept SKY out of the mix in the absence of Shreyas Iyer. So we are gradually moving towards a better approach and a batting order to support it. I think it would still take a little bit of a time.

I feel like we can still score around 300. It has to be seen how these 2 are playing. Get to a score like 220/4 around the 40th over with one of these batting right till the end. Still very much within reach.

Yeah it might be they want to give chances to the three in the middle order, Pant will play somewhere anyway, so just stick him up to open.

I think Rahul 4 and Sky 5 is a very very smart move. Two most versatile Indian batters. But, it's only going to work if this is a long term plan. I am not so sure about Pant opening. If this is the plan going forward then it won't be such a foul idea to try Venky Iyer as opener and have Pant at 6. It's a bit unfair with Iyer how he played out of position when he debuted and now is sidelined. I don't rate Venky Iyer much for some reason but he was hard done by and he's been making runs for fun everywhere.

Unless obviously Hardik Pandya goes hammer and tongs and starts ripping poles out everywhere he goes.
