What games have you been playing recently?

I hadn't put any points into my archery so I wouldn't know. I never stopped enjoying Warband, but it seems to have sunk under my pile of new games that I never seem to make any headway through. Apparently they're making a sequel, which I'm delighted about :)

Yeah that's probably why I was able to pick all 3 up for so cheap, definitely interested in a new one when it's released.

What useless weapons did you use if not a bow? :p

The lance can be cool in tournaments, not sure I'd like it on the battlefield or for sieges though.

I pretty much pumped power strike and various damage dealing stats with health giving stats and training based ones as well. So my army always had a some nifty Archers that I'd command to stay back and I'd ride off with my cavalry and standard sword and shield. Felt good. Felt... right. Just loved charging in with my horse and waving my sword around as I carved people up :p

I'll always be a standard swordsman in most games first. Traditional of course old chap. I am British after all.

Say it ain't so! :noway

I thought you guys.. well my ancestors 150+ years ago too.. were renowned for their archery skills :p

The second run I chose a background that boosted my one hand skill and left my archery up the creek, but atm I'm just shy of 290 in one handed, 260 in archery and like 160 in polearms, but I never carry the latter.

Always reach for my sword first, but it's fun randomly firing off arrow after arrow as you charge forward to meet them. Pretty satisfying when you nail a head shot on a guy you can't even see :p I have a background in shooting though, so that's why I always like to have a trusty bow close by.

Yeah I definitely intended to get a bow involved at some point for the exact same thing you use it for :) Think once I've cleaned up on Far Cry might have to get M&B:W back on the go again. There's infidels to be slain and princesses to be wooed. The land of Caladriel (think that's what it was called) ain't gonna run in fear from itself heh

Oh, and I presume now you've confirmed I'm British you'll be putting me straight on ignore :lol

Moved on to Warband now :) Left the Nords with a castle and village up in Vaegir country, so you can live there under house arrest :p

My sword slashes look so flamboyant now, takes some getting used to the new system. Also the lance is a bit annoying, seems more effective aiming on the left side than the right, which is how it should be done anyway I guess. But the freaking horses getting in your way and killing your speed is even more aggravating, that was the main thing I was hoping would be improved.

Plenty of new additions to keep me interested though, gonna go back to the Rhodoks for this run :)

Wwe13 ps3

Got it for my boy yesterday.

He bloody loves it.

I'm just you know playing because I have to. :spy

Your new guy will seem pants though compared to your last guy considering the starting stats. Once you put some points in riding and polearms he'll be a lot better at them. Although yeah, I'm not a a lance fan and getting the whole couched strike and timing is a bit frustrating. I really do just love the way you can play it for a nation, or even just as a simple merchant trying to survive whilst making a name for yourself. Brings back memories of the ol' legend Sid's Pirates! No real story but the one you makeup yourself, which suits me fine considering the generally terrible quality of most games stories :p

Also Lee :lol

I can see him sat next to you politely asking when "he can have a go?"

"In a minute Son, Daddy just has to sort out this guy in pants with a chair to the head first."

Ha ha, yeah it's actually really good fun, although when we have a one on one match I literally am not allowed to do anything except stand there and let his guy smash mine up with anything he can find.

Still when he goes to bed later I'm having a royal rumble on hard level and I'm going in at number 1 and I will see if I can do a Ric Flair and last till the end...Wooooooooooooooo

Are you gonna do it whilst sat in your pants and wearing a blonde wig to complete the look? :D

This is what youtube can do for you. Amazing, amazing house. Take a look.
