Pakistan lost to them in 1999 World Cup
Also Sri Lanka - Kenya 2003 World Cup
& who can forget West Indies - Kenya ?

Exactly, justifies my point that Bangladesh and Kenya have caused upsets before the Aus loss to Bangladesh but have been rather inconspicuous.

Well Kenya should get through their group with England, New Zealdand and Canada...

Well a lot of them are getting old. But I haven't heard too many cricketers announcing any such plans. Just Murali I think.

Thats usual thing, there r many players like from s. lanka(jayasuriya), s. africa(pollock), australia(mcgrath) look likes, pakistan(inzi), w. indies(lara), there is every chance that they will retire from International cricket.

Very unlikely too, hes saying he'll go to 2009 for the Ashes in England. Let's see how his body holds up though.

If Aus win the WC and regain the Ashes this summer, it is more than likely that McGrath will retire. If Aus don't achieve both, then I expect McGrath to play till 2009 when the next Ashes series is played.

I agree this wc may be the last hurrah for many great players such as lara, murali, jaysuriya, inzi and mcgrath.

Blokes like Lara and Jayasuria would feel obliged to go on, because they are very much carrying thier teams.

He has said that he wishes to continue, he has not been dogged by injuries, so I would doubt that he would retire after the world cup. Perhaps a year after.

Lara maybe. But Jayasuria hardly carries his team anymore.

Not as much as Lara.

WI have one good player.

SL has 3 good players

I don't know about that. In the recent months, though Jayasuria has been very explosive, others have been chipping in with their contributions as well. Notable mentions would be Chandana, Murali, Vaas, Sangakarra, Jayawardane, etc.

Sarwan, Chanderpaul & Gayle aren't bad players either.

Just watching the cricket now, I decided to make a quick selection of who I'd have in my World Cup squad for Australia. I didn't exactly know how much they can take or how much they are taking so I just chose 15.

Squad: Ricky Ponting (Captain), Adam Gilchrist (Vice Captain), Matthew Hayden, Phil Jaques, Michael Clarke, Andrew Symonds, Michael Hussey, Shane Watson, Brad Haddin, Brad Hogg, Brett Lee, Nathan Bracken, Mitchell Johnson, Dan Cullen, Glenn McGrath.

Starting XI: Adam Gilchrist, Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting, Shane Watson, Michael Clarke, Andrew Symonds, Michael Hussey, Brad Hogg, Brett Lee, Mitchell Johnson, Glenn McGrath.

Bit biased on putting Matt Hayden in the side. Though I believe his still good enough to compete at the top level in ODI's and still dominate at the top of the order while I don't think Katich can. Jaques is the back up batsman and I've heard that Watson would make a good number 4 batsman so why not? And Clarke, Symonds & Hussey is a quality middle order while Haddin is the backup keeper. I didn't like adding Cullen to the bowling lineup but I knew they'd never choose MacGil and apparently you need spin bowlers for India or else I would've chosen Shaun Tait. I think that XI is good enough to win the world cup.

This is the kind of shirts they'll be using, pretty boring if you ask me. They should of done something to it :)
