Number of test series won outside India in the last 4 years (even a donkey can lead India in Indian conditions. Its outside where it counts) = 1

Number of One day series won = 1 ( not sure. But hey, I neednt remind you of the number of finals India has lost under Ganguly..what is it ? 14 losses and 2 wins ? Hardly an A+ grade on Gangulys report card ! Not by a stretch.)

and if you havent noticed ganguly as a captain got india to the world cup final , and swiped evreyother countrys of the floor apart from the aussies , but could not finesh the job in the final ,

Relevance now? How many finals has India won since then ? zero. Has there been any improvement ? no. Therefore, is Ganguly doing his job and producing results? no.

Yes he is playing crap as a batsmen , but India need him as a captain , after all ganguly 's the one who borught back dravid after being severley critasised as the slowest player , and a crappy player , he also brought back y singh , kaif , h singh , and laxman into the india side , after a struggle in thier earley careers.He fully backs all his youngsters as well .

It was the selectors that brought back Dravid. Not Ganguly. Yes Ganguly brought in Kaif and Yuvraj. Averages ? around 30. Are there better or comparable batsmen in India ? Yes. Theres Sriram, Rao, Badani to name a few. Have they been given a fair run in the team as those two pets of Ganguly have ? no.

Can Laxman bat? Yes, but no better than to average 32. Can he bowl? no. Can he field ? no. A non performing passenger in the team. If Ganguly has backed him in ODIs as you say, thats a poor reflection on his judgement rather than a positive highlight.

On that sehwag issue he is a better player than sehwag , sehwag ddoes well on big occasions , and he is also a usefull wicketaker , he avearges 32 at the moment in bat , and afridi avearges a dismall 27 for a batsmen.

Afridi averages 35 with the bat in the last one and a half year. Sehwag averages 30 in the same period. Afridi is without a question the better boeler and fielder.

and sehwags played good in the last 2 asia vs africa game , and another dismall performance by afridi where asia needed him to get the innings going with some aggreasion and at least make some runs .

If every player is only as good as his last innings, then Bradman must be the worst batsman on the planet , eh ?

I dont know what you are taking about but even in test sehwags a quality player who as played well in the last 2 years in test and made some match-winning performances who avreages about 50 in tests .

Absolutely no relevance in a thread dealing with limited overs performances in the lead up to the world cup.

Sehwags a better and quality player than afrid my friend.

I think you are being a bit too harsh on Ganguly. He is after all India's most successful captain, and one of only four players to score 10,000+ runs in ODIs. Yes its true that India have lost too many finals (with him as captain), but the good thing is that atleast under him India have got to the finals, and in the test arena, have won test matches on foreign soil. So he definately has got some improvement in the team. Also I think it was only Ganguly, did we see quite a few glimpses of India performing as a team, rather than a bunch of individuals.

Mate you're a bit too harsh on ganguly, and India and on sehwag. I support India, and I have got lot of pride for them, I feel for the team and players when India have a bad day, India was on the same position before the world cup 2003, and where did India end up in the 2003 world cup?, India just needs time, and they have got 18 months to do it and work very very hard, they have got a lot of time till the world cup and anything can happen .

If you had compared the performance of the Indian team under other Indian captains and under Ganguly, then you would have not have stated this! The thing is, our older captains were so poor that Ganguly's records show him as the most successful captain! He has been too and under him, India at least now look to be serious challengers when before, they were just looking like mere passengers!

It was Ganguly who saved Dravid from being dropped from the ODI team by handing over the wicketkeep gloves to him temporarily! Check the facts before posting! Ganguly was the one who decided to use Dravid as a makeshift wicketkeeper thereby making the selectors avoid the axing of Dravid from the ODI team! Now, Dravid is the most reliable ODI batsman too thanks to Ganguly! How do you guys so conveniently forget what this guy has did and always try to find faults?

Sriram and Badani score loads of runs in domestic competitions. When they're brought into international cricket, they play as if they're from USA or Malaysia with very little knowledge about cricket! And Rao now is being given chances. He might prove his worth! I agree Rao was inducted when Dravid was captain. But who cares who backed him?

It was the same Laxman that didnt find favor with the selectors for the World Cup 2003. He expressed his disappointment for it and tried to make an issue out of it. I doubt if Ganguly is persisting with Laxman. After the WC2003, the public and media pressure has made the selectors opt again for Laxman who is not fit at all for ODI cricket!

I dont care if Indias doing good or s**t now , when its the world cup I know that they will do good , becuase India have got the players ,expierence and talent . A lot of pakistani's was sayin way back when India was on a low way backk in 2000 ' INDIA HAS NO CHANCE OF WINNING THE WORLD CUP , NOT EVEN CLOSE TO GET INTO THE SUPER SIXES , DNA PAKISTAN WILL JUST KICK THIER ASS WHEN THEY PLAY INDIA '.I just told them we'll see when the world cup comes . At the end of the world cup you should have seen them I was luaghing , Pakistan was out of the world cup in the 1st round , they even had the best players playing for them , and still out of the world cup , and what was worse was INDIA TOTALLEY WALLPOPED THEM IN THAT GAME , AND KICKED PAKIASTAN OUT OF THE WORLD CUP , AND INDIA MANAGED TO REACH THE FINAL . You should have seen thier faces , they could not say anything at the end . Basically I know India will do a good job in the world cup , most likely to win it.
