A. Flintoff: 23 - 6

I was hoping for a Kiwis win but they lost  :p

Andrew Strauss and Ian Bell sets England up early

Scoreboard after 20 overs

England were allocated to bat 1st thanks to Stephen Fleming, wanting to see what the Poms made before they gave chase to win the game 2 of the Commonwealth Bank Series. England won the 1st match but New Zealand wanted revenge. Andrew Strauss and Ian Bell opened the batting for England, with Bell getting the all clear to open the batting instead of Michael Vaughan in this match. England have started this match of very nicely, probably something New Zealand would have expected with the pitch as it is, Fleming believed it was a good pitch for bowling. Strauss and Bell played their shots well. Strauss looked lively out in the middle after some bad form lately, but really looked like he owned the crease in the 1st 20 overs. Hitting his way to 4 boundaires and a massive 6 off Shane Bond in the 8th over. Little contreversy came between the players as the umpire declined a lbw decision on Strauss early on the piece, and will be looking at the tape to see what they really thought.
It was a good partnership Strauss and Bell were forming, but it was Shane Bond with the assistance from Butler that finally made the breakthrough, 86 runs later. Strauss was gone for 45, from 65 balls. England were 86/1.
Michael Vaughan was the next player in at number 3, and after 20 overs England are on 89/1 with Ian Bell currently on 38 not out with Vaughan at the other end on 1.

He is yet to recover from a real life victory of Eng over Aussies in yesterday's match i guess.

England going nicely, but is it enough

Scoreboard after 40 overs.

After the dismisall of Andrew Strauss in the 19th over of play, England really seemed to struggle for the rest of the match. The wonderful performance from Strauss and Bell are over with Strauss gone, now it was up to Vaughan and Bell to put England back in the game, but it wasnt long before Vaughan was gone aswell, a lbw decision again not a favourite by the crowd, and New Zealand would think they have gotten away with a cheapy there, but it was called out and no one can change that. Butler was the bowler that got Vaughan on 13, not a good innings from the captain, would of hoped to have made more.
Spinner Vettori came into the attack, and England would be hoping to play him well, as Vettori has been New Zealand's biggest wicket taker against England through the summer. But Vettoris 2nd over was all he needed to bring up his wicket of Pietersen, as now many would thnk that Pietersen may not be getting back into this England side until he can perform, all summer has been down on form. Only made 16 this afternoon.
Paul Collingwood played well from the moment he stepped onto the field, but was fooled by McMillian with a massive in-swinger caught Collingwood by suprise and was lbw'd. Collingwood hitting 28 from 27 balls including 7 boundaries the most of any player in the England team for the match so far.
Daniel Vettori was the main man for New Zealand again taking the 2 wickets of Flintoff on 16 and Geriat Jones on 18.
Ashley Giles and Matthew Hoggard are in the crease at the moment, with England on 196/7 off 40 overs, England have 10 overs to put the score into the 200's for their own sake and give New Zealand something to chase down.

England make 234 is that enough for New Zealand to chase. Lets find out

England have made a respectaful margin of 234 for New Zealand to chase. Thanks to Strauss and Ian Bell with the assistance from Matthew Hoggard to bowler making his best for the summer 23 at the end of the order to help England where they are now. Ashely Giles and Matthew Hoggard where the best from the 4 players remaining in the 10 overs. Ashley Giles making a good contribution of 14 befroe being bowled by McMillian and a wonderful catch by McCullum, probably one of the catches of the tournament so far. But it was fast bowler Matthew Hoggard that really showed what he has got with the bat making 23 from 22 balls, with 5 boundaries, really hit the ball well, was lucky alot of the time tho, getting the edge going away for four on 3 occasions, tried it for the 4th time but keeper McCullum was up to the task and dart around and take a massive dive to his right to take the catch one handed. Stephen Harmison and James Anderson were left but as being tail enders, they didnt trouble the scoreboard, with Harmison not out on 6 and Anderson caught by McCullum and bowled by Astle on 2. England have made a resaonable score, can New Zealand chase and survive, or will Andrew Flintoff have something in store for New Zealand again.
