trescothick has taken over the anchor role from atherton, the difference being he's a bit more aggressive

i'd disagree...i'd say strauss was the anchor man..Tresco plays his shots(often gets a 50 before lunch)

Greenidge and Haynes. Do you guys know anything?! It isnt Hayden and Langer. Greenidge and Haynes dominated attacks that contained much tougher opposition than what Hayden and Langer face. Come on guys.

Generally, any kind of bowler will eventually catch out poor footwork.

In that case we are talking about Sehwag,

Sehwag has minimum footwork and now every bowlers has got a way to get him out,Even the Zimbabweans were all over him,

Your own saying that cause there west indian.

...

Greenidge and Haynes had to face Jeff Thomson and Dennis Lillee, Terry Alderman, Bruce Reid, Sir Richard Hadlee, Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, Kapil Dev, Ian Botham, Bob Willis and that's just a few of the pacemen.

So, no, they didn't have to bat against Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Malcolm Marshall, Curtly Ambrose or Courtney Walsh. You can see for yourself, though, they had a lot of work without having to face them.

strauss and trescorthick?? thats a joke honestly they played well agaisnt an aussie pace bowling attack that was not inspired soon as a inform bowler came on, warne they got out to him mostly.many of other ones better than them

I?d have to go Greenidge n Haynes as (many times) they have been mention (individually and collectively) as two of the greatest opening batsmen of all time.

Truth is that of all of the other 14 batters I don?t ever remember seeing a list of ?all-time team? or ?openers of the century? etc. in which any of their names have been mentioned by professionals
