Would Shakib Al Hasan make a team other than Bangladesh?

What personal attack? If you want to see me personally attack someone look at my posts against War.

I'm not doubting your knowledge on playing cricket, but I am about your knowledge of the history of the game or the situation of the game in the current day. You most definitely will know more about bowling or playing the game, but that does not guarantee you will know more about cricket in general. There is a reason a lot of cricket experts and writers were not cricketers themselves, and indeed is the case in a lot of sports around the world.

Cricinfo is far, far less flawed than Wikipedia. Like, a thousand times less. Especially for cricket info.

You were asserting your opinion as a fact and backing it with flawed statistics and information.

c) @ the last line - quite possibly. (this is a personal attack in my book) knowing my background !!!

me or to any one, i dont think any of us here deserved to be personally attacked, its just wrong, all of us here are simply here because we all love the game and we all have opinions about it, regardless of one playing the game or not.

And for the record of cricinfo’s flawlessness, they got my birthday all wrong

Its 1979 December 19th
Not 1979 December 9th

:lol

Sure, but you do not constitute people telling you your information or 'facts' are rubbish as personal attacks. That's playing the Post, not the Poster.

Cricinfo > Wikipedia. Birth dates are irrelevant here. Never use Wikipedia as a credible source.

a) I personally trust wiki as I get lot of information from it and cricinfo is not flawless. In any web sites with loads of information, you can have misinformation as well.

Do you know how massively you have just contradicted yourself?

personally i think shakibs stats have been bloated by playing some low level opposition. plus there arent many world class all rounders out there at their peak atm. watson is definitely leading the way.

I posted Shakib's stats against the top 8 nations and they're still better than everyone else (apart from probably Watson)

My believe is that, worlds best players only play for world?s best teams
Really?...John Reid...a legend didn't play for the best team when he played cricket....Ryan Ten Doeschate a high class all-rounder plays for an associate nation...Kevin O'Brien the record breaker plays for an associate nation...Tamim Iqbal named one of Wisden's players of the year...plays for Bangladesh...Andy Flower played for Zimbabwe...Heath Streak played for Zimbabwe...I don't think I have to point out more examples...from the present or the past...my point is a good player can be born in any country even in Canada or Bangladesh

[/COLOR]do you honestly think sakib would even play for any other test team other then ZIM or BAN .....

Ah yes, most definitely. What Australia, New Zealand and the West Indies would give to have a quality spinner. What India, Sri Lanka and England would give to have an international standard all rounder. He'd walk into most teams afaic.

India not so much with Yuvi now. Also we need pace more than spin - Bhajji, Yuvi, Chawla, Ojha, Ashwin, Mishra have the spin department more than covered. We even have Jadeja, Abdullah in the wings and Raina and Yusuf bowl part time spin.

Tests. Shakib would allow India to play five bowlers.

Hmmm...I doubt it. India like playing 4 bowlers, imagining Shakib in the top 7 is hard when 8 and 9 are Harbhajan and Ishant. Especially since he'll be competing with (assuming Sachin, Viru, Gambhir and MSD have their spots intact) Dravid, Raina, Yuvraj, Kohli and Pujara for 3 spots, with guys like Rahane, Vijay, Tiwary, Pandey, Sharma, Uthappa all sitting in on the sidelines.

Raina's a better bat than Shakib, and a better fielder. Given how well UV has been bowling and that Raina can chip in too, it's hard to say Shakib would get selected over him in ODIs.

Yusuf...that's possible. Although Yusuf with the bat cannot be compared to anyone apart from probably Pollard really.

Looks like everyone’s thinking, he can get in to any team and he is world class, I cant, I think he is just overrated. For me its like this

Lets say, you have a bucket full of cricket balls and another bucket full of footballs

And you take one football from the bucket and put it in to cricket ball bucket.

Even if the football in cricket ball bucket would be slightly smaller in size to other footballs, it would look bigger then all the balls in both buckets

(again my opinion only) no one have to agree with me

I WILL agree with you Lassana that he overrated, but that doesn't mean he's rubbish and like the others have pointed out, he fills a gap that most countries don't have in their teams.
