You've been Warnered!

They didn't even talk about Tendulkar in the first place, Max. It had nothing to do with Tendulkar at all, really.

And Dan stop thwarting this even more off topic, we don't want him to explode now do we? :p

Well if you compare the peaks of both players, Sachin is >>>Pietersen. Here is little fact, in 1998 best year of Tendulkar, he scored 1894 runs and 9 centuries in 23 ODI. That record is yet to be broken. I'll give you my word, the day Pietersen did that ,i'll worship him. Till then it is Tendulkar.

Actually Pietersen's peak in Test cricket is better than that of the "godly" figure of Sachin just look at the their highest ranking points.

But on the other hand I think I'll try and steer clear of this Sachin flame war...

Switch Hit > anything Sachins done in his career! How much longer can I wind him up?

Are you serious?:eek::eek: Well then Douglas Marilier a tail ender invented the marrilers shot. whre a batsmen leave his stumps and glide the ball over the keepers head. well then Douglas marrilier > Sachin also. u really don't make any sense there dude. Just on one shot. Yuvraj has this uncanny ability to sweep fast bowlers for six, then he should be >>> sachin and K.P as k.p only sweeps spinners. utter rubbish man.

wait a min, i got one shot which is >>>> than Switch hit

Google the video of India Vs Pak match in WC2003. Shoiab akhtar running in and bowl at 156KMPH. What sachin did? well he hit him fo six over point. Yeah that is hard. people can easily undercut the ball to go to third man but he directed the ball over the point for six. i only seen pieterson slogging over deep mid wicket and long on,which is a favourable area of most bottom handed players.

I thought this thread was about Warner.
Take your arguements elsewhere.

(And yes,I know I'm not a mod but I like watching Warner and this thread was for discussing him,so when I came in here to post what I thought there were lots of junk which didn't belong here!)

Max, please stop talking about Tendulkar. This thread has nothing to do with him at all. Why don't you follow his philosophy and just let his bat do the talking.

Douglas Mariller > Sachin anyday ;);););) (complimentary overuse of smilies)

i was really annoyed with king pieterson . coz in my thread of best batsmen in next decade he was allways giving facts and proving pieterson better than yuvraj. I dug out the stats and found that in last 4 years yuvraj has been superior to pieterson. i just posted the stats and give him the link to check. Next thing i know, he disappeared from the thread. Again here when i give him the facts and he doesnt have any facts what he does, pietersen hits switch hit so he is better than Tendulkar.

That just shows he is completely blinded :eek:by the :hpraise:hpraise:hpraise:hpraiseAwesomeness of the great ,the almighty, the savior, the son of Zeus, The King of King,Sir Kevin Pietersen. I wont be bothered by his comments coz he lives in a parallel universe of himslef where everyone looks like Pietersen. So let him enjoy his honeymoon:p with pietersen, we would talk to him when he come back to reality.

max_dillon2007 added 7 Minutes and 38 Seconds later...

This is wat king pietersen said when i was arguing bout yuvraj and pietersen. "What exactly is your basis for saying Yuvraj is better than KP in ODi's? A few good innings and hitting 6 sixes in an over don't prove anything. KP's been far more consistant, and if we're talking about cracking debut's. What about KP's debut in the country of his birth, getting booed to sin, yet scores 3 hundreds in a series that England were hammered in. The South African fans turned his back on KP when he made his first ton, but by the end of that series he was being applauded for his efforts. "

Now he seems to loose his own plot by comparing a switch hit with the career of a player who conquered the world by the age of 21.

here is the link of full discussion, you can see him running after i gave him his solid stats. Stats from cricinfo. http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/cricket-discussion/best-batsmen-next-decade-49805-8.html

Ever thought of reading the posts that you quote?

As for Yuvraj vs Pietersen. The only stat I noticed was that he averages 1 run higher in the last few years. Big woop. Reason I didn't reply is because it wasn't worth my effort as everyone else in the thread agreed with me.

Seriously can we get back on Warner.

And for the record I don't care if you are God, Tendulkar, Bradman, Ponting, Warner, George Bush, Obama, a baby, a 100 year old you can't compare a player after 2 games. So why on earth go on so much about it? My point which seems to have been missed by you is Warner has done well after 2 games. That isn't saying hes a God or the worst player in the history of ODI, worst than a baby, better than Bush, all it says is he has done well.

Now can we stay on topic or I will be forced to delete post.

You are Damn right there. I agree with you. Players cannot be compared because there are a lot of factors involved in a players performance which cannot be accurately calculated, like fan support, pitch condition, opposition quality, mood of player etc etc. Thus one should avoid the comparision. It is just king Pietersen, he finds my post and try to pull my leg as best as he can. He is playing joker and thinks i am batman which i am not:p

As far as warner is concerened he is sehwag like player and would keep everyone on the edge of their seats. You can expect anything form him. Maybe i include him in my XI in future, but thats if he perform well in 2 or 3 years consistently.

Today shall be his last judging day before we make a general conclusion about him......

edit: oh look games over and noone's replied yet. how surprising....

I am feeling sorry for Warner. He got his chance in possibly worst situation. Tough series against in form team, without Hayden on other hand. He would have considered himself lucky, if he would have got his chance against any other team.
It still would be harsh to drop him. Australia as a overall team have failed to perform and also South Africa have played their best cricket. It just not Warner who failed to play his role.

One whirlwind innings and two low-scoring ones. Don't know what else people expected of him really. I haven't seen him bat yet, but if he is as you guys say, a power hitter, then he'll come off once in a while and fail other times. Kinda like Shahid Afridi. I'd argue Afridi has more talent, but then he's a bigger idiot, so it cancels out.

Can't expect him to be making 100s every match and the selectors know this. Hes there to get the side off to a flyer if it doesn't come off the rest of the batters are there to build the total. Deserves another series against NZ before we can say keep him or drop him.

Dead on, such a talent deserves an extended run, this is not the time nor place to drop him, especially against a slightly less challenging series against NZ. I mean if you can't give Mitchell almost an unlimited test run, Warner deserves at the very least to go to South Africa.
