Well somebodys got to give away the most runs, he didn't perform today just like Anderson didn't in the last game, it does happen you know. You don't seriously think he's going to perform in every game being 21 years old?

Plunkett showed today why he should never have been dropped. Ironically aftre being brought back in he had efforts off his bowling dropped too. Anderson continued his good wicket-taking form. Broad was atrocious.
Also we saw Monty 'Always a Threat' Panesar at his best :P . Honestly he shouldn't be playing - he gets hit for singles so easily and has no mystery ball or real variation to trouble batsmen in this form of the game. Bring in Blackwell: he's a competent batsmen and can bowl economically (As he showed against India who are far better against spin than the Windies). That is, until Monty has improved his one day bowling by actually playing for Northampton in one dayers.
Also people will continue to support Cook (and to a lesser extent, Prior) as a one day player because we've seen the Windies build slowly then pummel in the last ten. However there is one simple reason England cannot afford to do this - Pietersen is the only player who can accelerate his innings. Time after time we've seen the middle collapse when the top order tries to play patiently and let the run rate build up. Therefore we should either(and preferably both!):
a) Get aggressive, boundary hitting openers
b) Have players capable of accelerating and getting big scores. For example: Trott.

well we 1 player who can clear the rope.. maybe 2 if Prior gets going..
the rest are too slow to much the same type batting.
We gave away AT LEAST 50 too many runs as we have no death bowler..

If the West Indies can learn to follow the wickets-in-hand strategy, surely England can, without nuking their team.
Broad and Anderson were over-bowled in the latter stages in both matches, but on paper they're the two quicks who it would make sense to use. England will obviously reconsider that tactic. So too, Monty could have bowled one or two late overs to offer some variety, but it's no good having a plan b if you don't have a plan a in the first place.

Bloody hell will you stop it with the pessimism! There are 32 overs left and 218 runs needed. It's far from impossible. I see how none have you actually blamed KP himself for getting out. Instead you blame the other batsman for putting too much pressure on him. It was a disgraceful shot, that's why he's out. How about we give the West Indians some credit as it is their bowling which has contributed to us being 3 down; It's not all our doing.
