yeah - the ball does stay down quite a bit at times for spinners. Mostly when the ball is bowled really slow. Which would kind of make sense, considering if you bowled a very slow loopy delivery pitching in the middle of pitch, it would stay down. Very sneaky tactic ! It goes up to the right...
BarmyArmy, I hear you are being owned by hamaadravda though ! Oh wait, I am hamaadravda !
RV has gone easy on all of us since he's just practicing. But yesterday when he was in full form, he whooped my ass. Everyone beware of RV.
i have seen that the best shots to play to such slow short-pitched bowling are:
Leg Flick/Hip Glance, Mid-Wicket Punch/On-Drive, and Cover-Drive/Cover-Punch ... before long you will be creaming these non-imaginative bowlers for 15-20 runs an over.
Maybe the yorker and bouncer length could be limited based on the Level of the bowler. After all, only good bowlers are able to bowl yorkers consistently. Say level 1 bowler will only be able to bowl 1 bouncer or yorker, and Level 10 can bowl 4-5 bouncers OR yorkers in an over.
this guy called the Cricketman, with the team Indian Tigers is also a yorker spammer. Though he got creamed for many many sixes, he bowled the majority of his balls way outside off-stump, and all yorkers. Should be avoided !
I am not sure whether you are suffering from a case of reality distortion. But isn't my win-loss against you something like 11-4 ?
But yeah man, the last few games I've lost so badly with you. It's about time I do some serious practice.
Wow - sounds like an amazing game. Brings my thoughts back to one of those many time when I kicked RV in the mushy area. In one of those games, RV had scored 81, and I had chased that down on the last ball of the 5th over. Was quite satisfying - as winning against RV always is.
From what I have seen ... if it is Red in the center area, it is the fastest. If it is red in the side areas it is a fast spinner/cutter. It seems like you get the most swing/spin when it is in the green areas on the sides (between red and yellow)
The reward for bowling lamely in Howzat is pretty steep. It seems to be that yorkers and full pitched balls are not the way to go.
Has anybody come across a winning bowling approach yet ?
I have been playing this game for the past day or so, and I absolutely love it. My thoughts on the game:
Positives:
1) Great animations for a browser-based games. In fact, the bowling animations are better than some of the animations that I have seen on console-based games. Really adds to...
I had such high expectations of this game based on the trailer and the demo that I have seen, but having played the demo, and looked at some of the feedback over here, I am not so hot about the game anymore.
The good things in the game seem to be:
1) Large variety of shots: some of them...
