19th Match, Group F: West Indies v India at Bridgetown

What absolute crap.

Man, I am really getting tired of this nonsense. Everything that happens in cricket is India's fault, or the BCCI had something to do with it, or Lalit Modi's new scheme for world domination. :sarcasm We lost because our team selection was absolutely horrendous, we went in unchanged after our worst loss in YEARS, in any format. We have no balance in the side, no 3rd seamer (seriously, wtf, on the most seaming track in WI, playing in the morning) and have a bunch of n00bs in our batting lineup.
Indian cricket does NOT need an overhaul. Are you seriously saying this after one T20 loss? This format does not matter to me at all. Btw Tom, we are the number one Test team in the world, but hey, you'll probably say that Modi was behind that too. :sarcasm

Oh, and at least we don't have to resort to importing our cricketers from better cricketing nations, hell you even gave captaincy to a few of em.
I agree with this man, and also Modi is not bad, just to marketing centered.

Ok, Rohit, just you then considering everyone else has agreed with what I said. But then again if anyone puts a slight on India you take it as a personal insult. India were pretty poor throughout this tournament and if you are totally unbias India have built their way to number 1 in test cricket by barely playing outside the sub-continent in recent years. Anyway who is going on about test cricket here, this is the 20/20 world cup or did your eyes cloud over and forget where you were when you saw India come under attack? :sarcasm

India have been rubbish in 20/20 World Cup's since the first one and ironically enough that coincides with the beginning of the IPL.

Classic Rohit though slagging off England when they weren't even mentioned. Nice to see such responsible, mature moderator's these days who can keep to the topic's discussion.....

We lost it when Pathan got out. Harbhajan can hit but he is not a reliable customer in these types of pressure situations and Dhoni is not the same marauding hitter anymore.

It seems you hadn't seen the last ball Six.

If you bat so flingingly ridiculous for the most part of the fifteen overs, then you shouldn't really be expecting to win a match. And what's with this flinging problem with the short ball? We have had this thing for ages now, but no one seems to bother about it.

Pfft, who needs to work on the short ball when you can hit big sixers in India on low flat pitches. :thumbs

We missed a 1st and 2nd pacer, too.

And a decent partnership.

I dunno why we stick with the same players again and again even in this T20 format? There are some players who dodnt know to play T20 cricket. Zak and Nehra are no good T20 bowlers and this Jadeja is just useless and again because of him we lost this tournmaent like the last one. I feel when we have a huge tournament like IPL the selection of T20 teams must be done purely on IPL performance. Some one like Tiwary or Rayudu could have way better than Jadeja. And I dunno why Chawla was picked ahead of Ojha or Misrha. Why did Yuvi even make the team he has a useless IPL and his form is all over and I cant see him coming back in form before the next world cup. Selectors have ruined the team..:doh

This is sick,Murali Vijay is really a waste,Karthik should have been given a chance.

I am just sick you bringing the IPL/Lalit Modi/and BCCI into every single argument. You suggested that Indian cricket needed an overhaul, would soon become like Pakistan or WI when we are clearly a cricketing stronghold in formats that matter most (I don't even watch the WT20).

I am angry with the Indian team as well, so this has nothing to do with the Indian team being attacked or whatever.

Anyways, what is up with us and the short ball. I thought at least GAMBHIR would have stood up to it, he was pulling with intent on quicker pitches world over before but today it was just sad. Rohit Sharma freaking sucks, I don't care if he got a bad decision or if he batted well in the last game, he isn't going to make it for me. Yuvraj needed to stand up and deliver and has dissapointed me for the last time. He has been playing cricket for almost a decade now, has played hundreds of ODI matches and should have been used to such a situation. Todays match called for him to play a mature yet powerful role that he should be expected to play after all this experience, but he failed.

Dhoni bugged me too. Once again, why did he play at 6? Why did he go in, again, with only 3 frontline bowlers (2 of whom are crap?) Why did we persist with Ravi Jadeja AND Yusuf Pathan, when both are woefully out of form, offer nothing we don't have to the team, and occupy slots that can be better utilized by specialists? Where was Robin Uthappa? Hell, why didn't we just pick someone off the benches in Dinesh Karthik, who is comfortable against short pitched bowling, can bat anywhere in the order, and is fantastic in the field?

I am fuming not because we are out of The T20, I couldn't care less about that, but the way we got out. Bounced out...again? India is known for having quality batsman butthey have to be picked to perform. Dhoni's captaincy was uninspiring, the bowling was tripe, the selection was HORRIBLE.

I could have done a better job.

The problem with guys like Gambhir and Sehwag is that, they have all the time to leave the short balls in test or ODI cricket and they dont need to take ungainly risks. So they play such balls better in that format. But in T20, they are forced to go after the bowling and keep the scoring rate high enough. So Gambhir played the short balls very poorly in both games. Gambhir has a serious problem. He is so vulnerable to run outs (doesnt put in the dive, doesnt ground his bat properly), cant bat well if his opening partner is not Virender Sehwag, etc. How can we live around with a guy like this? Its like "Give him this, this and this and I will play well for you".
