A Heart of Gold: A Pok?mon Story (Chewie v Iridium v Hedger)

Well that is perfect for when you're posting progress, but what were you going to do when you were actually going to write your storyline part?

It would be more like your first part. Something like what you read in a book, so it wouldn't have to location headings and underlined items etc. Or perhaps, I'd go into a bit more detail.

Ok, that sounds good. I think your progress update is perfect so the people posting their progress could do it like that and the other person will post like Chewie did to start off with and how I did it just then.

You don't mind if I post mine like that, do you? I won't post pictures and everything but I'll list the route/city and then describe what happens, I guess.

And when is the next major battle?

That is really nice and clear to read, with the headings. But yea it seems more like Hedger's writeup :p Quite detailed. Not sure how I'm going to do mine. Haven't started yet. Still deciding which pokemon to choose...

Cyndaquil v Totodile depends on what pokemon are available later on - are there any decent water or fire types to catch? First fire type is Vulpix/Growlithe after Goldenrod. First water is Wooper. But there is the shiny Gyrados later... decisions decision decisions!

Next big battle could be the Elder in the Bellsprout Tower? With the gym leader really soon afterwards?

Yeah, I thought it was. I was just thinking "Did Iridium read it wrong. He was just meant to post his progress, not a whole update" :p

And we may as well go to the Elder in the Bellsprout Tower and then do the gym leader for the next update. The gym leader deserves its own update anyway :p

Yea I probably misunderstood. My bad. It's a story though :p

What were you thinking of when you said post your progress? Something like:

Picked Totodile
Got egg, Pokedex
Battled disgruntled teenager
Won

I wasn't too sure tbh :p But I really like what you've done.

I'm just going to carry on with how I've done it if that's alright. Let's see how long that lasts before I get lazy....

Not quite. That's why I was waiting for yous two to post your progress so I could see how yous did it.

But yeah, I like Iridium's. It wouldn't be too hard to do it like that.

haha, I just realised you changed your update so it said your best friend, Lyra. :p

I knew she was someone important but couldn't remember what. So I put "some girl who lived in town" till I found out what the relationship was :p

Will try my best to follow this one, although I'm not kinda attached to the Johto region. :p

A Heart of Gold - Part 1

Professor Elm's Lab
The decision between the three pokemon was a difficult one that took a lot of time to decide. Eventually I chose Totodile, the water pokemon. After being given 5 potions by the lab assistant, and picking up my Pokegear from mom, I set off for my journey.

Route 29
I encountered a number of pokemon whilst walking through the grass, but Totodile was able to handle them with ease. To my surprise he learnt a new attack, water gun, which was pleasing to see.

Cherrygrove City
A very energetic old man approached me as I entered the city, and offered to give me a tour, which was nice of him. When he had finished, he gave me the running shoes and the map card which was even more awesome of him. These will make it much easier for me to get around everywhere.

Route 30
The pokemon here were similar to the previous route, and Totodile dished out the punishment everywhere, leveling some more. A nice man in a house gave me an Apricorn Box which was cool. Everyone seems to be so nice in Pokemon-land.

Mr Pokemon's House
Eventually I made it to Mr Pokemon's House, where I was given the Mystery Egg to take back to Professor Elm. To my surprise, not only did I meet Mr Pokemon, but also Professor Oak, the most respected of all Pokemon Professors. He gave me the Pokedex, so I could help him with his research. What a day I've had. It was only going to get more interesting however, as Professor Elm rang me and told me to come back to his lab as soon as possible. And so, off I headed.

The Passerby Boy
On my way out of Cherrygrove City, I bumped into a strange red-haired boy, who challenged me to a battle.

He had a level 5 Chikorita which I was able to defeat easily, without taking any damage. He stormed off. What a weirdo.

Professor Elm's Lab

It turns out that someone had stolen a pokemon from the lab. A Chikorita to be specific. Turns out that the red-haired guy I had just owned was the thief. I helped the police with their investigation as much as I could, before showing the Mystery Egg to Professor Elm. He was very intrigued by it. Seeing I had a pokedex, he told me to keep my totodile (whom I had grown rather attached to), and take the gym leader challenge. This was something I had thought about my whole life, and finally my dream would be coming true. I vowed to never stop trying until I had become the Johto Champion.
