and south australia to win this game i think. :D

I didn't do NCEA so I didn't get E's, but I did get a top in the world :p

No faith in my playing skills! :O :p

10k on each of Tasmania and Bailey.
I think Ponting will score the most runs, but $1.50 isn't really worth betting on.

I am back and will post an update shortly, once I've checked all the threads that have been updated since I left :)

Tasmania v South Australia, Day 2, Sheffield Shield, Round 1, Adelaide

South Australia take First Day Honours
October 13, 2010

South Australia 315/5 (Harris 89, Smith 80*)

South Australia won the toss and chose to bat first on what was a good wicket, with fine weather forecasted for the next few days. While Tasmanian coach Jono Choie
was dismayed that he was not able to make the most of the good batting conditions first up, he was optimistic that his team could keep South Australia to a good
total. ?We have good opening bowlers in Ben Hilfenhaus and Adam Griffith, and they can hopefully pressurise the batsmen into making a mistake.? Southern Redbacks
coach Mark Sorell felt that their opening batsman would take all the chances they got to try and score a huge total in the first innings. ?Daniel Harris and Aiden Blizzard
are a good opening combination, with Aiden providing all the sparks with his naturally aggressive style of play, while Dan has the experience and will be looking to stay at
the crease for a long period.
?

However, it was the newcomer to the coaching circuit who would be proved correct, as Ben Hilfenhaus struck with his first ball of the day. Aiden Blizzard missed a
delivery that seamed in to be struck in line with the stumps, a decision that the umpire had no hesitation in giving out.

Hilfenhaus was unlucky not to add a second victim four balls later as a delivery caught Michael Klinger?s outside edge only to be dropped in the slips. Klinger took advantage
of this and began hitting all the loose balls to the boundary, especially off Griffith?s bowling. Harris soon followed suit, with a bowling change to Brett Geeves having little
effect. Ed Cowan dropped a very tough chance from Harris in close but barring this the batsmen gave nothing away, remaining unbeaten at lunch, Klinger having brought
up his half century.

After lunch, Hilfenhaus began a fresh spell after having bowled 9 overs in a row before the break. He immediately induced a number of play and misses, but nothing hit the
edge. By now the two batsmen were well on their way to their centuries before Geeves managed to sneak a ball past Klinger?s bat to hit him on the pads directly in front.
He departed for a well made 72 that had helped South Australia push forward from their poor start. Despite this setback, Harris kept on playing his shots, especially liking
the moderate pace of Luke Butterworth as he made it to 89, hitting 15 fours along the way. Unfortunately he went for one too many big shots and was caught in slip by
Doolan. This meant that South Australia had two reasonably new batsmen at the crease with Callum Ferguson only having faced 22 balls at this point, and 27 minutes until tea.
A defensive approach was taken, with only singles being scored as they reached tea on 199-3.

Ferguson must have had too much to eat because shortly after play was resumed he was stuck in his crease as a Hilfenhaus delivery struck the outer edge and was caught at
second slip. This wicket was just reward for Hilfenhaus? tireless effort and had Tasmania onto the front foot for the first time since the opening over. With the new ball
approaching, the captain went to the part-time medium pace of Mark Cosgrove to give his fast bowlers a rest. This move didn?t result in any wickets, but Cosgrove bowled a
tight spell increasing the pressure on the batsman to score until Jamie Smith top edged a pull shot for six.

When the new ball arrived it was immediately thrown to Hilfenhaus who was expected to continue his excellent bowling length from his previous spells. However, it was
Geeves who struck with the ball as the debutant Andy Leigh was bowled between his legs for 19. It was a solid debut for the youngster but he would definitely have hoped to
make a higher score as he tries to hold down a place in the team. Once Leigh was gone, Jamie Smith put the accelerator down, hitting a 6 and three 4s off Hilfenhaus to reach
his half century from 83 balls. He continued batting in the same vein, taking quick runs with Daniel Christian as the pair finished the day with a partnership of 75; Smith on 80*
and Christian on 21 as South Australia reached 315-5. Tasmania will be disappointed with their efforts after having South Australia in difficulty from the first ball. Credit must
go to Harris, Klinger and Smith though for excellent knocks that wrestled the momentum away from the Tasmanian bowlers. The match goes into the second day with South
Australia having their noses in front.
