Haha all good Bounce :) If you want you can just put 1vCash on each :p

Riz and Mad have a lot of confidence in me hahaha Thanks for all the support and bets you've placed. I hope I don't lose too much vCash :p

I'm going to change to posting everyone 1.5-2 days now. Gives me more time to write the updates, especially because I have exams at the moment.

International Action for Tasmanian Players!
20 September 2010

613663-ricky-ponting.jpg

Over the off-season three Tasmanian players were called up to the national team. Ricky Ponting, national captain,
played two Test matches against Pakistan, scoring 104 runs in four innings, including one half-century. He also
played five One Day Internationals against England, including the tour match against Middlesex where James
Hopes bowled them out for 57. He was not as successful here, however, only scoring 52 runs as Australia won
the series 3-2.

Also representing Australia was Tim Paine who played five matches in the World Twenty20 Tournament. He was
instrumental in the win against Pakistan with an unbeaten 76. Overall he scored 150 runs at an average of 37.5
but his good run was cut short as Australia lost to eventual winners India by 8 wickets. He looks to have a strong
future ahead of him in the national colours.

A third, more surprising call up was of Mark Cosgrove to the T20 squad that played two T20Is against Pakistan.
While he did not get a chance to bat, he said that the experience of getting out onto the field again in the
Australian colours was an opportunity he relished. Despite scoring no runs, he did manage to keep hold of a
crucial catch to get rid of Salman Butt on 0, as Australia won the series 2-0.

In other news, a MVP system is going to be introduced at all levels in Cricket Tasmania. This will reflect the
player?s batting, bowling, and fielding performance in all matches, with a cumulative tally being kept. At the end
of the season, the best players in each format, and the best overall player will receive prizes for their contribution
to the team. It is hoped that this added incentive will encourage players to play better, as Cricket Australia will no
doubt have a look at these MVP values when choosing their squads. For a full guide as to how these points are
calculated visit this site: Cricket Web's Fantasy Cricket - Points Summary

(The Cricket Tasmania news section is rather boring. I had to spice it up a bit. I think most updates will be on the CA or Cricinfo websites from now on.)
On a sidenote, why is Cosgrove even in my team? I thought he played for South Australia
Thanks to Callum (CG123) for providing me the link to the MVP points.

For the MVP stuff I just combine the batting points and batting bonus points/penalties, and the same with bowling.
I do that as it means there are a lot less columns.

IMO that interface is fine.
Nice short sharp update there, looking forward to the Tassy matches.

I've already done a table and separated it and can't be bothered changing it :/

Normally, the Tasmanian cricket news page doesn't have the green font, the bolded font, the bigger font, or the picture. So it's pretty boring.

Cosgrove got dropped from the redbacks and came to us, or we chose him.

Oh ok, thanks :) It doesn't say anywhere on cricinfo he plays for Tasmania so I wasn't sure. Ok found the article now :)

The way you're using the Cricket Tasmania website looks nice imo. I reckon it's better than the Cricket Australia one with your alterations.
Nice start this has been so far, kiu!

Jason Krejza Dropped from the Tasmanian Tigers

jason-krejza_1109744c.jpg

23 September, 2010

Jason Krejza, the Australian off-spin bowler, has not been able to find a place in the 22-man Tasmania Tigers Squad. He was reportedly very unhappy at this
decision and has chosen to retire from cricket completely to pursue a career as a country musician. The man his teammates call ‘Krazy’ had been fighting for one
spinning position in the side with Xavier Doherty, with Doherty’s OD credentials winning over new coach Jono Choie.

Krejza burst onto the international scene as the Australian selectors searched for the spinner to replace Shane Warne following Stuart McGill’s retirement. While he
had not impressed in the tour match, he took figures of 8 for 215 in his debut innings, and 12 wickets in the match – his first 5 wicket innings haul, and 10 wickets
match haul. These were the second best figures by an Australian on debut. His test career didn’t last long, playing one more test but only taking a single wicket in
the match. Nathan Hauritz’s recent successes on the international stage overshadowed Krejza’s amazing debut performance, and he slipped back into the shadows
of the Tasmanian team.

Taking his place in the team is the South African international star JP Duminy, who will play for the Tigers during the Big Bash. He is regular member of the South
African squad and it is hoped that he will lead the Tigers to the title for the first time. Duminy averages just below 35 runs per wicket with a high score of 99*. Added to
his impressive batting statistics, he is more than handy with the ball, with 20 Twenty20 wickets at an average of 19.8 and an economy rate of 7.11.

The Full squad is as follows: George Bailey (captain), Travis Birt, Luke Butterworth, Steven Cazzulino, Mark Cosgrove, Ed Cowan, Gerard Denton, Xavier Doherty,
Alex Doolan, Brendan Drew, JP Duminy (T20 Only), James Faulkner, Brett Geeves, Adam Griffith, Ben Hilfenhaus, Brady Jones, Rhett Lockyear, Timothy MacDonald,
Adam Maher, Timothy Paine, Ricky Ponting, Jon Wells

Now that the squad for the season has been announced, place your picks on who you think will win the overall MVP award, and the MVP award for each format. You can pick the same person more than once. This means there are 4 different picks you can make. Every pick you get correct at the end of the season will net you 50k vCash. If I manage to earn some more vCash this will go up, but at the moment I've lost heaps betting on the WC :P 1 set of picks per PC member allowed, and picks are only valid until the start of the first match. No vCash required to enter in this one, just make your picks :)

Damn! Krejza isn't here. Poor Tasmanian selectors, Duminy would be good-for-nothing for them.

Lol at dropping Krejza.

Overall MVP - George Bailey
FC MVP - George Bailey
OD MVP - Mark Cosgrove
T20 MVP - JP Duminy

Was also thinking about Hilfenhaus and Paine, but decided to go against them.
I assume Ponting will be on INT duty for most of the season.

Great presentation there Chewie, I was able to figure out just 1 mistake. But lost it.

lol at Krejza being dropped and his retirement from cricket to become a musician.:p
