Yorkshire Surge Leaves Essex In Trouble
At Headingly
A middle order collapse from Essex left them realing on day 3 at Headingly. After a good start Essex collapsed from 172 for 3 to 199 all out, 7 wickets falling for only 27 runs which has left them in great trouble. Nothing can be taken away from the Yorkshire bowlers who used the conditions brilliantly to exploit the swing which left the Essex middle order in dissaray and in great danger of losing the match.
From Briggs View
Briggs took some stick early on from the Essex openers when he was brought into the attack, being hit all over the ground by Cook and Jefferson was not the best way to start your spell but he replied very well claiming a vital wicket of Ravinder Bopara in his final over which started the rot for Essex.
