Story A Season In The Life Of.....................Me...!![C2005]

Thanks guys, I must say the field setting AI seems to be pretty impressive when im playing the comp, in my most recent game i played a few shots to the same area and very soon the comp put a man in there which restricted my runs......i was very impressed because in turn this needed me to find a new area to score which i struggled to do!!!

One thing i miss tho from C2K4 is the ability to press the left CTRL and right CTRL and look from your batters point of view at the field and such.

Terrific Innings ubder tremendous pressure. Go Briggsey!

Also you cant get rid of Blakey now. Some reps for an interesting read

great story here, especially with it being yorkshire too

would be great if they included a feature which allowed you to only control the one player

Yes I agree, lots of people were asking if that was going to be included in BLIC2005 but it wasnt, maybe in the future it will be though hopefully.

Yorkshire Surge Leaves Essex In Trouble
At Headingly

A middle order collapse from Essex left them realing on day 3 at Headingly. After a good start Essex collapsed from 172 for 3 to 199 all out, 7 wickets falling for only 27 runs which has left them in great trouble. Nothing can be taken away from the Yorkshire bowlers who used the conditions brilliantly to exploit the swing which left the Essex middle order in dissaray and in great danger of losing the match.

From Briggs View
Briggs took some stick early on from the Essex openers when he was brought into the attack, being hit all over the ground by Cook and Jefferson was not the best way to start your spell but he replied very well claiming a vital wicket of Ravinder Bopara in his final over which started the rot for Essex.

Shaun Briggs 11-0-31-1
1st Spell
1st Over: Cook hits the first and fourth balls of the over for 4
2nd Over: Just a single from a better over from Briggs
3rd Over: Jefferson compiles the misery for Briggs by hitting him for a huge 6
4th Over: A huge appeal for caught off the glove by Cook from Briggs is turned down by the umpre
5th Over: 4 runs from Cook as Briggs is bowling a bit too short
6th Over: 2 runs from the over
End Of Spell: 6-0-23-0
2nd Spell
1st Over: 2 runs from the over
2nd Over: 2 more from the over, Briggs keeping it tight
3rd Over: 1 run from the over
4th Over: 1 from the over as Briggs bowling much better now
5th Over: WICKET! Bopara plays across the line and is hit dead infront, umpire has no hesitation in giving him out, much to the delight of Briggs
End Of Spell: 5-0-8-1

Essex Strike Back!
From Headingly

There was yet another twist in this amazing game today as Essex struck back to bowl Yorkshire out for 201 in their second innings. Essex now require 326 runs to win on day 4 which will be no easy feat especially after their first innings collapse so it is going to be very interesting to see how Essex go about their innings. The main reason for Yorkshire's downfall was there aggressive approach to this innings, it seemed that they had the intentions of going out to get quick runs and for some of the batters it worked but the 201 runs were picked up pretty quick and some of the Essex bowlers were treated with no respect at all!

From Briggs View
Shaun Briggs followed up his first innings century with a nicely played 23. His strokes were there for all to see and he will count himself very unlucky to have got out, with the ball from Adams hitting Briggs on the glove, then hitting the back of Briggs' pad before hitting the stumps to bring an abrupt end to Briggs second innings.

UPDATE SOON

Yorkshire Dominate As Essex Crumble To Defeat
At Headingly

Yorkshire did not take long to defeat Essex on the final day of this match as they bowled them out in just over 50 overs for a lowly 95. Essex struggled with the conditions and the high bounce on the pitch and many of there batsmen were out playing the hook shot, something Shaun Briggs especially picked up on. Only 2 Essex batsmen managed to get into double figures and a game which was expected to go the distance and finish tight, ended in an overwhelming victory for Yorkshire.

From Briggs View
Shaun Briggs bowled an outstanding spell of bowling as it was his wickets which sparked the beginning of the end for Essex. He managed to remove both Flower brothers for low scores which was vital for Yorkshire's hopes of victory.

Shaun Briggs 9-3-20-4
1st Spell
1st Over: WICKET! What a start for Briggs as Andy Flower edges straight to Wood at slip!
2nd Over: Maiden as Briggs hits Grant Flower on the glove twice in the over
3rd Over: WICKET! Bopara goes for the hook shot which ends up going straight in the air and into the hands of Kruis! Next ball Foster edges one which lands safe
4th Over: Single from the over as Briggs is bowling brilliantly
5th Over: WICKET! Grant Flower attempts the same hook as Bopara and its the same result as the ball lands straight in the hands of Kruis
6th Over: 2 runs from the over
7th Over: Maiden over
8th Over: WICKET! Unplayable delivery! Pitched just off, off stump and came back in to Napier who played all around it!
9th Over: Single from Briggs' final over
