A T20 draft...cricket_icon & swacker's picks

Farhan is now up with a double pick

Also, I'd add Ambati Rayudu to the list of players not picked too. Very good batsman and can keep. Better than Uthappa. I had a look at everyone remaining and knew that I can easily get Gilchrist in this round as Fenil already picked Prior as his keeper. So, went with the spin option. Otherwise I'd have definitely picked Rayudu.

Yep fair call, Rayudu has done well. I think Uthappa stood out to me because he'd played for India, so I missed Rayudu.

Thanks for adding your writeups BTW :thumbs

I'm really liking this team so far. To my way of thinking you haven't got a weak player in there :thumbs Although I think you're last in the minnows round so you'll have to find room for 1 weak player :yes And there's so many all-rounders you could probably add 2 bowlers OR 2 batsmen - good luxury to have.

Well Jacob Oram isn't capable of backing up for two games in a row, so that'd be the main weakness I see. Also, Swann is like a disease, irritating everyone and spreading dissent throughout the team :spy

^Hah! Yes...well I didn't say it was perfect :yes Besides I would argue that keeping in T20 is relatively unimportant. You're just as likely to catch a guy at deep mid-wicket as behind the stumps, and if you do fluff a chance the batter will probably offer one somewhere else in the next over or 2 - it's the nature of the attacking style of the T20 batsman.

Farhan's got another 5 hrs left, give or take a few minutes.

I selected Kamran mainly on the basis of his batting but he still keeps wicket well in T20s and he has most dismissals in T20s to back it.
Jacob Oram wasn't a bad choice since I was 3rd last in the list and there isn't many to choose. I only watched him closely in SLPL and he impressed me alot.

Yeah Oram was amazingly good in SLPL. I'll admit I thought he was past it by now, but he did great - particularly bowling.

OK so now we have Stinky to pick for Australia, and User for Sri Lanka.

Gun pick right there :thumbs I thought there'd be no chance of picking him up that late in the order.

I'm stand pretty low in the next two rounds so in all possibility, I might not have a chance to get a quality batsman. Thus, I'll go for Tillakaratne Dilshan. A brilliant batsman, a useful bowler, marvelous fielder and a handy keeper.

Yeah, good pick. I went for Vaas because I couldn't fit Dilshan in the team.

Shane Watson
Matt Prior
Kevin Pietersen
TM Dilshan
David Hussey
Abdul Razzaq
??????
??????
Shane Bond
Munaf Patel
Devendra Bishoo

Yeah, good pick. I went for Vaas because I couldn't fit Dilshan in the team.

I was hoping that you don't pick him as he was so crucial to have for the balance of my squad. Vaas is a brilliant pick as well. Few other good players are left but I thought Dilshan was overall the best of the lot for us. Lets see who picks whom.

I'll take jayasuriya then. he's probably a better player theoretically than his stats show. kinda like what garry sobers is to ODI cricket, you know if it had come a few years earlier he'd have been a dominant force but being 38 when the first world championship was played he didn't have that time. still managed a brief period of being incredible in the first season of the IPL.
