Fair enough but am not sure if I can do a new release for just this sake although if there is anything to fix I cna included your suggestions along with it. Anyways thanks for your suggestion, I appreciate it.

crick4life, hows is your Test match patch coming along? i was following its progress in the "one off test Eng V WI" thread in the stats & stories forums, but u haven't updated it for a fews days..

was wondering if i could help test the patch, cos i am currently using your one day patch and its AWESOME, but not quite right for tests.

Thanks for your interest Eddie, the test cricke match had to go through a little bit of change after I realised I had couple of values really high where I didnt intend it to be. With the new values the second inning is going to be played and the latest is WI have gone past England's score. WI lead by around 40+ runs with another 2 1/2 days to go.

The ODI patch as you rightly pointed out is exclusively for ODIs and I definitely dont recommend using it for test matches. I would be more than keen to take your help given I may not be able to test it fully and also the test matches take so much time really.

This patch is playing very well for me as I played as Australia againgst India and India scored 267 runs and as reply I played very well and able to score 250 plus.Details will be exposed later on.

Hey Ravi, i know it'll be a mess just to make a new patch for just the edges, so please let me know, how i can configure my .gob file to get more edges and please can anybody explain to me what pitches are best for what like Green pitch for fast bowlers, Dusty for spinner, what about rest?

Souljah, please use the config editor and increase the

EdgeProb 1099 EdgeProb6 4999

in any stroke you like. Please search the forum for detailed explanation on all of the values in the stroke files.

In that case (ravi) I'd definately be interested in helping you with feedbacl on your patch. I have quite a bit of time on my hands right now, so playing out tests in full is no problem.

If u could send me a copy of the CFG file i will get started right away.

If u let me know which areas in particular you are trying to "fine tune" then i get back to you with the results.

Eddie, give me a couple of hours to make sure the CPU doesnt fold up in less than 20 overs on any sort of pitch before passing this on to you. Can you PM me your mail id? I can give you a link for you to download the patch from. I suppose you are versed with the config editor to import the patch right?

Ravi,I am having a strange problem of byes as cpu is unable of catch 3 to 4 balls per over .Have you any remedy of this particular problem.I am using xspeed at 1.51 .Often in matches the runs through byes are abundant and as a result all challenge goes to waste.Let me know any particular setting etc for solution if have any?

Thats a bit strange:confused: I know the keeper is fairly weak against the slower ball, he normally lets one go but 3-4 an over is simply unacceptable. Any particular type of pitch you are having issues with? I am playing at 1.51 too and its looks good though there may be one or two misses at the most through out an entire match. I am pretty sure the original cricket 2004 had these byes issues, I put that down to TargetSizeMax being too high originally. I think it was something like 0.90 which prompts the lesser bowlers to bowl wide and big bouncers over the head of the keeper. You may just want to check the min is around 10-15 and max not more than 30-35. This will prevent any bowler from bowling too many wides or bouncers.

If you dont find anything odd with the values mentioned above, I suggest you reinstall the GOB just in case and see if it makes any difference.

yeah i am fine with the config editor to install the patch.

I PM'd u with the email to send it to

Eddie, what you want to look for in the patch is pretty much obvious really. I would like to know from you how hard/easy the batting is, how easy is it to bowl, is CPU aggressive enough, does CPU punish bad balls and defend good ones. How easy is it to hit fours/sixes, using the spinners can we restrict or bowl out CPU?

Pretty much any feedback you may have and if possible just upload the scores at the end of each day's test match. If you can play with variable pitch/weather and a better batting opposition like say Australia, India would be good. Thanks for the help mate.

Ravi, i find that !xSpeed makes a lot of byes occur on the harder pitches: Hard, Dusty, Dry.
The bal sails over the batsman and it appears that the keeper sometimes just reacts too slowly.
Is there anyway u can reduce the outfield speed in just one particular area?, cause them we could slow it down behind the keeper?

BTW- havent treid test patch yet, i will have time tomorrow though

Not sure if we can change the speed in just one area Tim. I will although check if I can lessen the byes with any other tweak.

Dont worry about testing the test cricket patch with the one I sent you. I will send you the altered one later today and you can test with that one.
