A great century from Cox has put them in a strong position leading by 105 runs. The wicket which offered so much for the bowlers intially appears to have flattened out making the task for Tasmnia alot easier. Ponting look promising but was undone by a good bouncer and Birt at the top looked uneasy with Plunketts angle of delivery. Since the loss of the second wicket however there has been little of England with the Tasmnais getting stronger and stringer as the day prgressed.

England fought back by taking two wickets in this session. Cox went first after being caught LBW by Anderson. The centurion had looked settled and threatenign smashing a huge six in the first overs of play. However with his wicket England looked stronger taking another wicket after Mahmood slipped in a great yorker. Englandnow need a few more wickets for a stronger positon and easy chance of winning.

England stormed back taking 5 wicket for 23 with all 5 last batsmen falling for a duck. The tragic collapsed started after Di Venuto fell for 46, after this wicket Giles picked up hsi 6th of the match getting Butterworth caught at silly point. Following this Doherty went LBW to plunett who the claimed 3 edges to bowl Tasmania out for 342 with Plunkett claiming a great 7 for 97.

D.Gower- England have fought back very well and have so much time to win this game now. If they bat poorly though they will be in big trouble so they need a good start.

England Required 271 runs to win

England have crumbled to 29 for 4 after a terrible 12 overs before Tea. Strauss fell first for a mere 1 run after being clean bowled by a seaming delivery. This brougth Vaughan to the crease in search fo form and runs, however again he failed falling to a slip catch of his trade mark cover drive. Now poised at 9 fro 2 England needed a plan but a terrible shot from Joyce and his dismisal put them in further trouble. Finally Cook fell for 6 after edging of the back foot. Bell and Collingwood have stabalised the innings lasting the 22 balls each before the interval they much needed came.

D.Gower- Tasmanai will seem themslevs on the verge of victory if they can pick up two wickets. England need a big innings from Bell or Collingwood and runs from the tail most likely.

England Required 243 runs to win

29/4.. thats bad session for England! It mostly depends on Colly now!

Also Nice to knw that u have removed the sorecards and text descriptions from the title accrding to new rule for thread titles which still many stories have! :clap :clap :clap

Surely Tassie can't lose this now. They batted well in their second innings and only rain can save England now.

thanks for the feedback, yeh i think this match is more or less over. Tasmanias second innings was a good one and probbaly a match winning one.

England have fought Hard with a partnership of 80+ by Collingwood and Bell and a further 40 by Bell and Jones. However wickets late on in thr session has put them in a bad positon. Bell whos is 89 not out has looked in great formed hitting the ball to all parts, however he slowy runnning out of partners and will need to play even better to pull England through.

D.Gower- Tasmania are still favourites with those 2 late wickets. If England stand a chance they need somehting special from Bell and the tail.

England pulled of the seemingly impossible and beat Tasmania by 1 wicket. Poised on 188-9 England looked down and out however an unbeaten 163 and a partnership with Anderson of 84 brought England to victory. Giles was the firts wicket to fall on day 4 after being ran out by bell who was looking for the strange quick single. Following this Mahmood went in simular fashion with him receiving a runout courtesy of a direct hit. England were now in serious trouble and the hope they had placed in Plunkett went when he was trapped LBW. Now 188 for 9 England needed a huge partnership. Terrific batting from Bell brought this and by keeping the strike and allowing Anderson to face as few balls a possible enbaled England to pull of such a victory. However things nealry went wrong after Anderson began to play his shots. Requiring just 10 to win Anderson smashed a cover drive of a half volley. However the bowler sensing a weakness bowled the small ball but swung it away finding the edge btu unfortunatley into a vacant 2nd slip region. This edge somed up the Tasmanian luck and also sealed England victory.

D.Gower- Who would have thought this was possible. Bell and Anderson must have thought so and they proved that you shoudl never give up, well done. The Man of the match is a idfficult decsion with some great performnaces throughout. However one man stands out after guiding his team to a 1 wicket victroy and smashing a briliant 163 Ian Bell is the Man of the Match.
Man of the Match I.Bell- When Anderson came in i was thinking we just got to bat for as long as possible and get as close. I knew to do this i had to keep as much fo the strike and eventually ee went from trying to get as close as we could to winning and we eventually got there.

England win by 1 wicket
