Ashes 2015 - Australia tour of England July/September 2015

Can't remember many performances at home worse than this in the last 15 years. We did win the last match though. It's 1-1 at the end of the day. No need to panic.

Momentum is a precious commodity

England have to remember that losing is fine, but the hard work but the response is more important. Australia were terrible in Cardiff, but have done brilliantly well to respond.

England have been worse than Australia were in Cardiff, but the response will be crucial. If England come back fighting we are in for a great third test.

Yeah I agree,it was myself who mentioned Wood, he was bowling slower than Jimmy this morning! Broad has bowled well through out so far. The Aussies have outplayed England in all areas in this test as we did to them in the first. The signs look far more positive for them though, they rang the changes after that defeat and it's paid off for them. Have England got the balls or the replacements to do the same?

Excuse me, I also said the same. Only joking.

Broad been good but Jimmy, as I said already, was pointless. Two games in a row seems too much for him, which is sad. Look at MJ go.

I think the issue really is not just the manner of defeat but the exacerbation of existing issues (top order runs) alongside seeing their important players (Warner, Johnson, Smith) coming into form doesn't inspire confidence.

Horrible horrible horrible utterly pathetic nothing short of an act unworthy of the England shirt. Throwing peanuts at the radio.....

I've got a gig tonight and my set has changed from lively songs to every morose song I can muster. I may even have to call on the old Wait and Bleed Slipknot cover

Nick Cave's Greatest Hits? Oh no wait, he's an Aussie

I'm glad I dont know any Nick Cave songs well enough to play now! Had no idea he was an Aussie.

Either that or I'll just play a salute to the Aussies with the three songs I know. Waltzing Matilda and the Neighbours and Home and Away theme tunes![DOUBLEPOST=1437322584][/DOUBLEPOST]
What kind of a gig?

Me playing guitar in a pub....best place for me tonight. Singing may not be great though s I'm already on the booze after that disaster!

ya this australia is nothing like that golden era aus, they do have chinks in all departments but the way they get back after losing is really outstanding. Its almost like they have a clean slate after a defeat and get back up.

Cheers pal. Its my "job"... I have a great job!

England captain Alastair Cook: "To not back up our win at Cardiff is incredibly frustrating. Credit to Australia, they put us under pressure and we weren't able to deal with it. We didn't bowl with the same discipline and control. Over the last few games, we have been three down for 40-odd and that is an area of concern.

"We have to take this on the chin. Now it's about the character we need to show to bounce back. We came up short this week. I don't think it's about where people bat, it's down to the players, they just have to get stuck in. You've seen over the last eight days that the side which gets on top stays on top. I want a good, old English wicket at Edgbaston."

There you go, I knew it was just about character......
