Ashes 2015 - Australia tour of England July/September 2015

I get confused as to when you are an England fan and when you are not!

its called a joke post

plus it really was a possibility, had australia not decided to bowl like a bunch of idiots

My support for England is grounded by the way I cheer on Scotland in every other sport

Go into every game assume that they'll lose, then when they win you always feel good

What is wrong with you? It's quite simple. The more runs that Ian Bell gets in this test match the more chance England have of winning.

It's all set up for a fascinating day tomorrow, England really need to dig in and get a decent score on the board to put the Aussies out of contention of victory, though if England capitulate as they often do, they'll undo all that great work today by their bowlers and Clarke's men will scent blood once more!

What a poor innings from Ian Bell! Gary Ballance would have easily got more in those 56 odd balls!

Is he the top scorer so far? :clap

Sense a few mad posters!

The way Australia collapsed yesterday almost had a sense of inevitability to it. This Australian side, while being almost unbeatable at home have shown real signs of vulnerability everytime they tour. The batting lineup is a pale shadow of the Aussie sides of the 90s and 2000s and with Clarke struggling, there seems to be a lack of solidity at the top. Even in the home summer against India, the top order was exposed a couple of times but due to lack of depth in India`s attack, and scores from people like Johnson and Mitch Marsh, they managed to cross the line.

If the conditions remain anything like it was yesterday, this series is England`s to lose.

Talk about England living up to expectation...

What do people think England will need to be in front by when they're bowled out? I reckon 140 would be a healthy enough lead. A lot of work to do to get there though.

140 would be great at this stage. Butler needs a good innings.

Seems to me, Johnson bowls full when its swinging in the air and bowls super fast short stuff if it's not. Are ENgland not practising?!

Just get out of the way of anything short!

it's interesting the commentators are saying how Bairstow won't have faced anything of that kind of pace... interesting how the decline of West Indies impacts on England - years ago, anyone playing in county cricket would have been facing the likes of Sylvester Clarke, Wayne Daniel, Franklyn Stephenson regularly...

I was re-reading some of KP's autobiography chapters yesterday. Not because I like him and want him back, but because he spoke quite a lot about Mitchell Johnson and facing him.

He says that the dressing room was pretty much scared of Johnson, but he would go and get Mushy and ask him to sling down some short stuff from ten yards. He would do this for hours. In that series, KP and Cook looked about the only people who could deal with short and quick bowling.

Are they practising like KP always used to? Who knows.
