Ashes 2015 - Australia tour of England July/September 2015

I'm very worried about the Anderson injury. Especially as the next test is at Trent Bridge. A ground where swing bowlers normally win it for you. Can't see him being fit for that, even if it's a small muscle strain.

If he's not fit, I'm not sure whether Mark Wood is the type of bowler we'd need to replace him. England would need one genuine pitch up swing bowler in the team. Woakes would be a good choice of he's fit enough.

Do people like Jack Brooks, James Harris or Lewis Gregory swing it consistently? Haven't seen them much.

As a like for like replacement, Woakes is the best suited. I know he's back playing again but don't know how he has been performing. I like Wood but I completely agree with you.

When does Buttler come under pressure, especially since Bairstow is a keeper, could let JB keep and bring in Taylor

With Stokes' bowling being a bit iffy this series, is there a chance Woakes and Wood come in from Jimmy and Stokes, with Ali to 6?[DOUBLEPOST=1438276315][/DOUBLEPOST]

Woakes has bowled very good in the CC, hasnt been good in the RLC but thats irrelevant

Stokes just bowled a really nice spell so there's no chance he's under pressure.

Bairstow is hardly putting Buttler under pressure until he scores runs himself.

I'm pretty sure that Woakes would just replace Jimmy. He's played 2 or 3 FC matches and has done okay.

England will be mental to even contemplate dropping Buttler/Stokes.

I wasnt advocating it, im not a Bairstow fan, was just playing devils advocate[DOUBLEPOST=1438276773][/DOUBLEPOST]

It would be harsh on Wood, but I think it has to be Woakes

If they play Woakes, it means Woakes 9, Broad 10. As a bowler, I wouldn't be lining up to bowl against England.

Steven Finn (There was a guy who said he is not a good bowler) who was he?

I didnt think he was the same bowler he once was, he wasnt bowling with this rythm in the CC when i saw him, and he is such a confidence bowler, i was worried warner would get after him and he would blow up like trent bridge 2013, but im pleased for him

We're all assuming Anderson will be out, but if he is, England might think they need an extra bowler. Woakes coming in would allow you to drop Lyth and then Woakes and Wood would come in for Anderson and Lyth.

One negative is that there's no natural opener, but I don't think Moeen would do any worse than the openers we've had in the last 2 years.

The commentary on sky seems to indicate if its a niggle as its intercostal will be out for at least 2 weeks

They wont go for 6 bowlers Woakes,Broad, wood, Stokes, Ali, Finn thats too many options
But woakes at 9 is ridiculous
Lyth might get dropped, and Ali might open but that would mean Taylor would come in[DOUBLEPOST=1438278625][/DOUBLEPOST]
Wow. It almost feels like there aren't any batsmen left in Australia.

SMarsh for Voges, Clarke under pressure, does Watto come under consideration again as MMarsh hasnt been great

The Sky commentators have spent as much time with Anderson as I have in the last hour, so they're guessing just like we are.

Lead is 20 now another 130 to 180 runs please :)
4 overs left wait 2 overs left (Time)
Come on Australia !!!!!!!!!
