Ashes Cricket 2013 General Discussion

And to ignore certain questions and to go running when the old crap hits the fan

That doesn't make any sense at all? Why would developers come here to ignore questions or go running, when they could achieve the same thing by *not* coming here at all in the first place?

No, I'm pretty sure the reason they come here is to engage and to learn.

So where were you hiding before the ashes delay debacle?

Sorry chief but lee has a point here, we can be a mean lot here and not agree with everything that is said and done but mike and ross are very different CEO. In my opinion ross has done may more than he should and well likes us strange lot. It was brave for Mike to come on here but every week is getting worse, i hope i am wrong and all will be fine very soon but as BDave has already said there is a bad feeling in the air.:spy

So where were you hiding before the ashes delay debacle?

Let's leave that alone as chief does not work for them anymore mate.

firstly as someone has already mentioned they don't owe us anything and secondly if you want to criticize you can mention the things of gameplay you like or don't in a civil way.don't attack people personally.the only ones whose reaction is a bit understood are the guys who preordered ashes and then were informed just 2hours before that the game is not releasing.inspite of knowing that the game is obviously not releasing and not disclosing that having taken pre orders is the only objectionable thing that either of them has done.nothing except that has any right for a backlash.but prolonged bashings make it unbearable to take.
chief has got nothing more to do with the ashes game right?so no profits no nothing.but he's still here involved in very few good debates and mostly pathetic conversations.why ? may be he does actually want to make a good game and wants to be here for healthy debates?
as for ross ,he is a wierdo .
he like most of us here just has become a part of the pc community even having tried to resist it while
chief is classy as some one had posted earlier .the AND MORE line is just simple, brilliant and never gets old.
so ........aaah..... my point....
CHRIS GAYLE.

Jamie (Chief) what was it like to meet KP?

Terrific. In all my dealings with him, he was a thoroughly lovely chap. Always seemed to be the first one there, always remembered you the next time you met... Great bloke.
That photo was from a press day in 2009 (I think just after the Lords test) - there were loads of rumours he was injured, and press were asked not to ask about it. He spent the entire day playing the game with us, with press, competition winners, etc... Having pictures taken with over-excited members of the team (ahem)... Never batted an eyelid or looked at his watch, smiled all day and was just great.
We later heard that he'd actually found out that very morning (just before coming to us) that he was going to be out for the rest of the Ashes series.
I can't imagine being able to do a day of smiling with that at the back of my mind, and I have a huge amount of respect for that. Proper Pro.

You're very lucky to have met him, sounds like it was one hell of a day. :)

I remember during that summer when the Australians were playing a warm up game against Kent and I was walking through my town and I saw a few of the Australian team (Katich & Johnson if I recall) but I didn't have the guts to approach them for an autograph :facepalm

I hear you don't get on so well with Paul Collingwood though (because you made his hair too ginger) :p

That rumour was not true! There's usually a fair bit of banter between the players; I guess that's what keeps it fun for them when they all have to get their pictures taken or do press junkets etc. Graeme Swann once dryly told me that he was convinced that in the Ashes 09 game his face wasn't included, and that instead we'd just put a big chin on Luke Wright's face.

I was always amazed how lovely and friendly they all were: with a lot of projects I've done with "talent" they can be a bit distant and kinda not wanting to be there: it's just a job. Without exception, all of the cricket people I've met over the years: players, commentators, manufacturers, venues etc: they have been utterly charming and helpful and cannot do enough for you.

sounds awesome chief. always interesting when you find out "the truth" about someone like KP who has a particular image/persona... I have heard in a few other places that KP is a top bloke. gets a hard time from a lot of people due to his media image and seems none of it is deserved.

not like Dhoni...

I do not know much about dhoni nor have i ever met him. But 3 of my friends went to england for the recent champions trophy game between india and pakistan and was able to meet him. Although it was a short meeting they said dhoni seemed like a really nice guy and seemed genuinely sorry for not spending more time with them (and other fans there). And interestingly all those three friends are pakistanis.

Sounds like a wonderful community. I am stuck here in a no cricket land like USA and probably will never be able to be part of a community like that or even experience it.

I didn't know what to expect I admit: I'd only read the bad things most of us had. But he was ace every single time.

You missed my point completely. What I mean is cricket games aren't big enough as a whole anywhere not even AUS/UK (where stuff sells) so with that it means India has no hope of sales but IF it did EA would have a cricket game because India is such a huge country imagine if you converted the sales AUS/ENG have but on india scale. There would be loads of money to be made hence why I used the example of EA as they only make games if they sell a bucket load.

You assumptiOn is correct as the commercial reality for EA is that if they can't sell 1 Million units as a bare minimum their ROI (return on investment) won't make sense. They have huge overheads to cover and only titles like FIFA and Madden Football which on annual basis sell more that 4 Million units each justifies the enormous production budgets and resources they put behind them every year.

Mikefegan gave any updates for this week?

Hi Guys, Sorry for being quiet over the last few days as I actually had the weekend and yesterday off for a change. We are now at a stage with the AC2013 game where we are now generating marketing assets for our publisher 505 Games. They will be working on these assets in the next week or so to get them out to all as per their marketing plan. This is what a publisher does so they will be making all announcements and details on the game and Trickstar Games will be assisting them with these endeavors.

On the production side, multiplayer is now complete, all content in now in with the exception of a new team which 505 Games will make an announcement about shortly. Our focus now is game polishing and bug fixing leading up to the submission process which is fast approaching and we are still on track for a November release. Thanks for your patience during August and your valued support of the AC2013 game.

Thanks for your feedback Mike. I will buy Ashes and DBC... We all cricket fans should be happy that getting two cricket games after so many years... :cheers
