Ashes Cricket 2013 General Discussion

or maybe it'll be Ireland!
I'm sure it won't hurt them for me to just say,

Licensed:
Australia
England
2x University teams

Unlicensed:
Bangladesh
Afghanistan
Canada
India
Ireland
Kenya
Netherlands
New Zealand
Pakistan
Scotland
South Africa
Sri Lanka
West Indies
Zimbabwe

Well placed source...

Didn't Ross already say Russia is licensed in Big Ant? I am sure the Russian's wouldn't be dodgy enough to license themselves to two games :spy

That was the joke.

my "joke" was based on being married to a Russian and knowing they'd license their Cricket team to Madden if they could get away with it ;)

Yeah, that'll be it... an A team or Lions squad, make better use of the official players. Either that, or they've secured a domestic team or something?

It'd be a bit of a cop-out then if they said "we've included the Australia A/British lions team" when really they've just expanded the squads for the two teams.

A squad of 30, with no ability to add or edit players, is insufficient to cover three forms of cricket. I know they are concentrating on The Ashes, but even then within the next 3 months Australia will have probably debuted another three spinners and four #3 batsmen.

Not sure why they didn't make more with their licence. Too hard? It's not like they had to model their bodies or anything realistic like that.

Then maybe south africa or new zealand.
Has Mike cleared that this new team will be domestic or international team ?

Haddin, D. Hussey, Hastings, Johnson, Starc, Doherty, Bailey, Khawaja, Smith, Hughes, Maxwell, McKay, Quiney, Beer, Harris, Hilfenhaus, Warner, Cowan, Bird, Pattinson, Wade, Clarke, Lyon, Cummins, Forrest, Siddle, Watson, Paine, Agar, Henriques.

Players in bold are almost 0% chance to play for Australia this summer...I mean...Forrest? Seriously?

A new team could be anything - a licensed non-national side such as a domestic team or A-side would be the most likely I'd imagine.

I doubt 505 would be spending any extra money on licences at this point, and there's little outside the local domestic/A sides which would be added value to an 'Ashes' game.

And a single domestic team means nothing. My guess is it will be something minor (no offence guys) like Scotland or Ireland.

There is a lot of talk here speculating about the team but it goes to show how wrong this game has gotten it and how right Big Ant has with Cricket Academy.

And, I've said it before and I'll say it a million times, the names, faces and statistics of a player can be real but if the bodies are all a generic slim, 6 foot guy then it's all to waste.

I'm yet to hear a reply from Chief or Mike (Chief is more likely, as he knows his stuff and doesn't give canned responses) about why the players all have generic bodies.

Can someone also tell me, when is the last time the player bodies were the same in NBA, soccer and Aussie Rules games? I can't remember exactly, but didn't even the horrible AFL Live games from 2003-2007 (2006 being a minor exception) have different player bodies? I think Mike Fegan even executive produced those.

Basketball is a sport where height difference is obviously important and it's hard to imagine a basketball game without it, except maybe in the mid 90s, but I'd argue it's almost just as important in Cricket. Tell me why in 2013 (maybe 2014 by the time this game is released) do we still have cricket games with generic bodies? Stick Cricket I can understand, but a reasonably well-funded console game made by guys with a fair bit of experience?
