Ashes Cricket 2013 General Discussion

Will there be multiple bowling actions? That will be very exciting.
Another thing I wanted 2 know is did u guys actually mo-cap the Aus and Eng players since they are licensed? At least some of them if not all....
Thanks:cheers

One more important thing we expect is the commentator saying the name of the cricketer like Watson,Cook etc instead of the bowler, player etc!

The licensed players ? Undoubtedly :thumbs :yes

Yes ofcourse for the licensed players. But EA Sports Cricket 2007 can say any name like it was Lexington for VVS in the game but with patches we have him as Laxman and Richie and Mark tell Laxman. So maybe Ashes 2013 must give that feature to add voice names too.

Hi Cheif, i read the interview with Tony Parkes and im wondering are there any unannounced platforms that ashes will be coming to? (Not asking for which ones, just yes or no.)

If they were confirmed, they'd have been announced, but that's not to say we won't look to do other platforms of all kinds.

Which is a total non answer. :-)

Let's leave it at: We're always thinking about extra platforms, but none are confirmed at this point.

Doubt it. Would probably cost them quite a bit to get the players in. Hopefully they at least got a couple pretty decent cricket players in to do the mo-cap.

Chief , can we substitute players during the match

Why on earth would you want to do that o_O

Why would it cost a lot? They're cricketers, not royalty.

o_O What's this?

And they would cost a lot, because they are cricketers. They get paid millions for just appearing in an advertisement and endorsing a product, surely they'll not do it cheap.

Just because someone is a good cricketer doesn't mean they would be good at doing motion capture.

Someone used to doing motion capture would probably do a better job copying a player's style than the actual player would do in attempting to be themselves in a motion capture suit in a dark room. The motion capture process would require a level of consistency and accuracy that isn't as needed in actual cricket.

Even if it was the actual player, they would still be trying to imitate themselves to recreate their famous style for the game - but because cricketers aren't usually good actors, they'd come across as being someone trying to imitate them, whereas an actor could convincingly copy a style even if they weren't a good cricketer.
