i am not part of the beta any more and had my bum slapped publically by @Dutch yesterday and even so I can say categorically that the knowledge, passion and attention to detail of the beta testers is absolutely clear. but they have no capactiy to set BA's prioirities, or allocate their resource, or control anything beyond saying "x is good, y is an issue, have you thought about z?" (this is obviously a simplification, the discussions were much deeper of course).

i don't even question BA's passion for the sport or the project. (as has been said, they often produced builds late at night, over weekends etc.)

though i do question their processes and the resulting ability to address issues in a consistent manner, which is what i've been banging on about the last few days.

to see the output of those processes and determine it was obviously a lack of knowledge in the beta testers, is a fairly skewed reading.

Dude, seriously, what do you want from the Beta team? You come on here rip us apart assuming we never noticed any issues, go as far as saying we have no idea about cricket, ask what we did about the issues and then do not believe when 5 guys tell you it is out of our control.

I find it hard to believe someone who has the ability to access the internet does not have any logic, common sense or even a brain at all.

Why do you take it so personally man. When the game came out i was thanking you all for your work and many appreciated.

However after the last patch it was clear the major technical issues were ignored. With your knowledge of cricket am sure you will agree with me that the 2 issues i mentioned are very serious ones.

And as it is now . It seems the game is dead for BA.

This is the problem with this forum. You cant say anything bad about BA or people that support BA.

Didnt you read the posts yesterday..I dont think saying bad things about BA is an issue but we could keep bashing all day and not do anything fruitful..

But instead letting the issues out, discussing them amongst us along with the beta guys , you know to progress or to move forward than staying in the same place and bashing them to no use..

Yes there's always the case of not all being patched and BA going thats final from us and thats something we or beta do not have any control over...

Well to sum it up. Too bad BA have a monopoly on cricket games. If they have a competitor maybe they would take it bit seriously. Sad part is, we would still pay for any bad cricket game and just complain about it for days. Sad sad sad

Honestly that doesn't seem fair though. You can have criticisms of the game as a reviewer and a consumer. But to completely discredit people's work like that on a "feeling" seems a bit absurd don't you think? I ton't think you understand how much the beta group does for the game. I'm not particularly involved here at all but still understand that they have a big hand in trying to fix the game.

For the 1000th time... we didn’t test the last patches. One was pushed out without us knowing.

Hence a lot of frustration. Stop barking up the wrong tree

to be fair, we did test 1.06, it just didn't do anything.

1.04 and 1.05 were pushed out without testing.

I was in the betas for 14 and 17 and those guys are certainly not to blame for any of the problems, they know their cricket and would certainly have brought up the most important issues time and time again... Field placing in particular came up a lot were talked about extensively as far back as DBC14.

Its Big Ant that's the problem - they're either not able or willing to solve the issues properly for whatever reason.

As for the game not being dead, going by DBC17's schedule we have about 10 more weeks before the final patch...

Look i mean this in a very respectful way.

For me Beta team failing to rectify AI feild settings issue and not spotting very basic things such as AI batsman defending in the last over is simply not acceptable.

I wonder which cricket exports advised BA on technicalities of cricket.

Dont think they have seen real cricket being played.
