Ashes Cricket Media Discussion

OFF TOPIC: No. Up until a year ago I read every single post, now I don't, I also don't post anywhere near the volume I once did, I just couldn't be bothered with wading through all of the tripe. If it keeps heading south then we have to seriously consider whether I have staff spend any time on here at all.

One of the big things about your team coming here though is that it's built a lot of engagement with the community, and surely that's not something that should be shelved, particularly now with the big push into the mainstream with such a large licence. I know there's some on here that can get annoying, but at the same time there's always been. I remember when DBC14 was first released and pirates were literally asking you personally for instructions on how to pirate the game; back then you seemingly just had more fun with it.

If I recall right too, the first response to DBC being revealed was a lot of people criticising the art style for what was basically concept art on an early build. It always happens, and part and parcel of revealing anything to the public. If there's enough interest, you'll get some negative responses no matter how good something is. Particularly when you're actually trying to get media attention, that's only going to intensify. I know it can get on your nerves, particularly in the crunch period coming up to release, but surely the benefits of staying directly part of the community outweigh the drawbacks.

Oh boy it's another 'Ross gets triggered by the posts of 13 year old Indian kids' episode. :rolleyes

We need proper moderators. There was a time until PC was in good hands and the good moderators where taken off and the whole site started getting diluted with shitty posts.

PC really needs to make up it's mind. It's either free speech for everyone or PC's quality. I used to be active everyday even if I didn't post as much but nowadays I visit PC only once a week even during an exciting release JUST BECAUSE I can't be bothered to go through the endless nonsense.

Honestly, PC is representative of an elite set of cricket loving people on a forum that is valued for it's quality derived directly from the kind of people and their thoughts that are being posted. You take that away, all that is left is just another forum.

Trust me, the day Ross leaves, I leave. He is the only reason I check these threads; there is no other sense of valuable discussion.

Make a choice before it's too late, @MattW .

As @PresidentEvil said, any posts from this point on that aren’t media related get deleted. Don’t try to be funny, don’t try to be cute. Don’t complain about the quality of the forums when you haven’t reported a single post ever. Go post in the General Discussion thread.

Seriously...

It's simple - make the posts you want to see others make. If people make good quality posts, it breeds good quality discussion - if you don't post because you're annoyed at all the bad posts - all that's left is the bad posts.

Positively contibute - that's how you make a forum better. No amount of moderators can improve the quality of posts that aren't made - if you sit on the sidelines complaining, then you're no better than the people you'd think are spamming or making low quality posts.

What moderators can do is keep this thread to the topic. Which will include deleting any further off topic posts.

Off Topic - In my opinion, Irrelevant post were posted when a question aimed at the Developers are answered by non developers, sometimes the posts were very rude prompting the other party to respond rudely, finaly the topic get diluted and ends up as non sense.

May be we should have started a thread as ‘ASK DEVELOPER’ Thread - strictly for Developers to Answer. Non Developers can ask sensible non repetitive questions.

I was quite surprised by Ross's reaction to my simple observation in the media thread!

On the back of the IGN video, I cancelled my preorder.

Ya. Even I was shocked with his responses and it made be believe it's not the CEO and someone else claiming to be him.
Anyway I am a die hard cricket fan and since there is no other cricket game available for ps4, I pre ordered and eagerly waiting for 16th Nov.
Still I hope it's not him coz I don't expect CEO to come and react in such a way. But ya it's just my opinion.

It is really him, and he throws his toys out of the pram every once in a while so nothing new here.

It's probably not a coincidence that the time he says he stopped liking the forum was 1 year ago which was around when DBC '17 released. A game that was generally received a lot worse than DBC '14 due to the many problems it has/had.

I did buy DBC17 and dint even start the career mode cos of stats issue. Still willing to give it Ashes Cricket a go.

No, I don't own a current gen console.

And thankfully Big Ant is kind enough to release the game later on PC so I can make an informed decision after seeing other people play/discuss the game without being tempted to buy it right away. If I consider it a worthwhile improvement over DBC '17 (ie. not just faces and animations) then I'll definitely buy it.
