Ashes to Ashes Mafia - Endgame (SK win)

Day 1

Something about him just didn't seem right. Did he have something to hide or was that just the way he was?
As they disappeared off to bed some were thinking about activities other than sleeping.
Stay clean tonight.

It is now Night 1. You have 24 hours to send me your roles.

Night 1

The intention was to follow the larger than life character. When it came down to it the message said ?blocked?.

She was rightly suspicious of the quiet man. Unexpectedly she was hit by a flash of light even though there was no smoking pistol. Her protagonist broke into a wild grin and retrieved the knife.

The plan had been well thought out but when they came to execute it no-one was in. A chance missed.

He was the last man left in the bar. Everyone else had gone. It seemed easier just to sleep on the floor so he did.

The shrieking of nothing is killing.

User2010 is dead. He was Alex Drake, Town Aligned.

It is now day 2. With 9 alive it takes 5 to lynch.

OK so first paragraph clearly shows the presence of a tracker or a cop. Maybe a follower. Nothing else so far in the game suggests we'd have both a tracker and a cop so I think it's one or the other. Also clearly shows a Mafia roleblocker.

Not sure what to make of the second paragraph. A woman character was about to be killed I guess. Just build up to the third paragraph.

Third paragraph suggests that the Mafia failed in executing their kill. A doctor would have correctly protected someone maybe..?

Fourth paragraph suggests the presence of a serial killer and I think it was the serial killer that performed the kill and not the Mafia. Had it been the serial killer that failed, it would be less likely that there was a "well thought out plan". A well thought out plan is something that would be more likely from a group of people.

User's ghost post suggests to me he possibly had a power role, perhaps that of the tracker or cop from the first paragraph.

So in a 10 man game, my hunch is two or three Mafia with one roleblocker and one godfather, a serial killer, a doctor and a cop/tracker/watcher. That leaves five more townies, maybe one more power role, maybe a miller and maybe a survivor.

I want to see if WC can contribute today, right now he is acting as a brilliant scapegoat in keeping the pressure off the Mafia with his seemingly poor play. But let's try and isolate others too and not put the spotlight on him the entire day.

----------

I'm sure it wasn't the Mafia that performed the kill. I've never played in a game with a vigilante before, but what if it was the vigilante that performed the kill and not a serial killer? Serial killer seems to make more sense from the day 1 write-up, but does anyone who's played with a vigilante think that the write-up could suggest a vigilante more?

The part about the woman who was suspicious is a good point and something I perhaps overlooked. I think perhaps it could be that there is both a tracker and a cop then, perfectly plausible.

The fact that someone was "the last man left in the bar" suggests that when the kill took place there was only one guy there and no-one else. So I think that rules out a bodyguard.

"larger than life character" wonder whether that's a godfather or the hated townie in the third paragraph of the first write-up; or something completely different. Agree that it was a tracker/cop being blocked.

Don't understand the second paragraph, will have to think about it.

"no-one was in" maybe a possible commuter being targeted by the mafia.

User2010 being killed by the third party character.

User's character was a woman...

The intention was to follow the larger than life character. When it came down to it the message said ?blocked?.

Tracker and roleblocker. I have a feeling the larger than life character is a cricketer (and we do know one retired legend who'd fit in). He was also mentioned in the first day writeup. ("The man liked to make an entrance. On this occasion his appearance raised eyebrows but not smiles. Scowling he headed for the bar as well."). Not completely sure.

She was rightly suspicious of the quiet man. Unexpectedly she was hit by a flash of light even though there was no smoking pistol. Her protagonist broke into a wild grin and retrieved the knife.

This must be User, right? Doesn't seem to be killled by mafia. 'Her protagonist'?

The plan had been well thought out but when they came to execute it no-one was in. A chance missed.

Mason/mafia, missing?

He was the last man left in the bar. Everyone else had gone. It seemed easier just to sleep on the floor so he did.

So everyone went out to use roles, and this guy didn't.

The fact that someone was "the last man left in the bar" suggests that when the kill took place there was only one guy there and no-one else. So I think that rules out a bodyguard.

The kill may not have taken place in a bar.

The shrieking of nothing is killing.

What the hell?

@Varun: "The shrieking of nothing is killing." I think that means that there was no scream since the guy killed was asleep. User was the last guy in the bar and slept on the floor and was killed during his sleep then didn't scream. I don't think he was a woman and I think the kill took place in the bar.

How about the possibility of a bulletproof instead of a doctor?

Interesting that you think User didn't use his role, it's certainly possible. He can't be the doctor, maybe he is a tracker/watcher. What other night roles would be there? Maybe a backup?

Anyone know if this write-up have any links to the song? Anyone who is familiar with the song able to uncover more?

Also we'd best be careful with the lynches, let's not rule out that there may be a double voter.

3 mafia with a serial killer seems a bit much.

I'd suspect if there is a serial killer it will mean 2 mafia.

I was thinking about the vigilante theory, and it doesn't seem plausible to me. I don't think a vigilante would want to kill on the first night, simply because we had no look in on who could possibly be Mafia other than the fact that maybe WC was a bit useless.

So a roleblocker, a godfather and a serial killer sounds right, as well as an investigative role and a doctor. Two power roles isn't enough flavour for the town, there must be at least three or four. I think we could have a doublevoter, maybe a survivor and maybe a miller. Plus perhaps User's role if he had one, which could be likely guessing from his ghost post.

'Follow' indicates a follower/tracker/watcher.

She was rightly suspicious of the quiet man. Unexpectedly she was hit by a flash of light even though there was no smoking pistol. Her protagonist broke into a wild grin and retrieved the knife.

Rightly suspicious? maybe the cop investigated the guy who killed her.
Her protagonist can also refer to a character in the TV series, right?
I would like to refer the raised eyebrows thing in the first day. I think there's a connection and this rules out the vigilante.

The plan had been well thought out but when they came to execute it no-one was in. A chance missed.

Maybe a commuter, 'jailkept' is also probable. The word 'they' indicates the mafia.

He was the last man left in the bar. Everyone else had gone. It seemed easier just to sleep on the floor so he did.

Role's not used.
I just couldn't figure out the last line.

Cop and another investigation role doesn't feel right.

Twice I've seen Manly viewing the thread but not posting anything. Add that to his no lynch on day 1 and I'm a bit suspicious.
