Ashes to Ashes Mafia - Endgame (SK win)

First paragraph I'm still not sure about the drinking references, maybe the jailkeeper is an innkeeper? Who keeps people safe by getting them drunk so they pass out and stay in the inn? just guessing really. it seems whatever it was failed last night anyway. Something like this Town Drunk - Epicmafia

again not sure on second pararaph, first sentence suggests somebody was targeted more than once last night.

third, again no idea (helpful)

fourth suggests stalker to me, and investigated a vanilla towny

last one seems like it could me some sort of mason, but the pushing suggests some sort of selling/item passing, and i can't think of any roles for that.

Lynch Manly

I mean, it's only a matter of time before he comes online drunk and spoils everything anyway. May as well get rid of him.

Good news is town has survived, what could have been a dangerous night. Looks like both killing roles might of targeted the same person, but were unsuccessful.

Really don't understand the write-up though. Can't seem to match any of the characters that I suspect are in the game, with whats written in the write-up.

Interested to see if Varun or the don know anything, given that they were possible targets last night.

Manly's theory that there may not be a second killer at all certainly looks plausible now. Really odd that only one kill out of four would occur in two nights.

----------

OK I just had a good look through the write-up and I have no idea what any of it means. I don't pick up on any Ashes to Ashes references in that either.

Looking at ste's analysis a town drunk would make sense, and it would make the most sense if it was Manly:p. That would explain his first post of the game.

All right I guess everyone has to check in. I like to play aggressively so I feel we need to go after someone straight away to avoid a repeat of Day 2 where we barely learnt anything and didn't lynch any Mafia off.

We can go after WC but it would be a waste, IMO we just lynch him if there is limited time left and we can't come to a decision as to who else we should lynch. I don't think we should waste another day on him now when we could have lynched him yesterday. He is basically nothing in this game, he seems harmless enough to me so lynching him so early would be a complete waste of a day.

Two players whom I have given the benefit of the doubt have been Varun and Simon. Varun seemed to be a townie who knew something and Simon seemed new.

Something about their play seems odd to me and of the lot I feel they have added very little and something about their lack of activity and thin posts make me slightly suspicious of them. Varun has been adding very little and I know little about him in this game other than he possibly knows something. His posts have had very little substance and have just seemed slightly odd to me. Simon hasn't been adding anything at all really all game. Fair enough if he's new, but that card can only last so long up to the point where you feel he may be using that as an excuse to be less active as he is hiding something. He is also not a WC in that he clearly knows English and what he is doing to some extent.

I would like a reply from them, but for now, FOS: Varun, Simon.

I was also a bit suspicious of Manly and ste but they have really picked up their activity and are contributing quite a bit and quite well too, so I'm not too suspicious of them at this point.

CG and swirler have seemed solid players throughout.

Right, finally I can start contributing. Sorry about the inactivity on day 2.
I've tried reading through the thread night 1 onwards, and midway through, I was feeling suspicious of the way Varun and thedon were playing.

theDon, because somehow I felt he seemed to know a bit too much. When I compared it with what I was able to decipher from the day's happenings, I really had no conviction, Don on the other hand seemed to be very confident.
I'm not sure of his playing style, but either he's being an excellent townie, or a very smart mafia.

I was a bit confused with where Varun wanted to point his analysis to. I went through his posts twice, but only ended up feeling more confused than before.
Additionally, the link-up play between thedon and varun makes me feel they may be a team of sorts, mafia or mason, but the last post (and fos) by thedon almost rules out the mason partnership.

I may be wrong here, but my gut says we might have atleast one mafia in the two.
I still need to read the thread properly from the beginning, but these are my initial thoughts based on what I've read starting night 1.

Really happy we did not have a kill in the night! puts us in a great position of advantage.

He decided to challenge the man to a drinking contest. Of all the people he could have picked this was the one adversary who was too strong for him. Before he passed out he heard them say ?so, will you have another then??
Looks like the roleblocker tried to block someone, but either he was blocked himself, or he was not able to use the role.

He was in demand tonight. He had hoped he wouldn?t need an axe to break the ice. Not everyone was impressed by his tall tales though.
Looks like someone was targeted by more than 1 person. Didn't understand what using an axe to break the ice would mean.

It wasn?t easy to get to the star but the seed had been planted. Now to let it grow.
No idea whatsoever. Maybe a cult in formation?

Hoping for better luck the fan logged on again. The timeline was blank though.
Facebook reference?!

He was trying to find a valuable friend but no-one seemed to need what he was pushing.
Again, either a cult reference, or masons.

By the sound of it we have a really good roleblocker/jailkeeper in the game if the kill was blocked again.

I agree with the cult references btw. I've never played with a cult before, so didn't know what to make of it, but maybe one of the vanilla townies started a cult last night or something..?

I'm keen to hear what Varun has to say and whether he'll continue with his rather odd playstyle so far this game.

Without reading anything yet because I just got home, do we want Varun to tell us what he knows since he's already implied that he has a night role, and I want to know what he knows about me...

As I said yesterday I don't see a lot of point in everyone analysing the write-up when we still only know who one character is (since I don't think it will help us much in finding the mafia at this stage), but my first thoughts were:

1st paragraph - Relates to "He was the last man left in the bar. Everyone else had gone. It seemed easier just to sleep on the floor so he did" on night one, although I'm not really sure what the mean/suggest.

2nd paragraph - I was thinking more along the lines of the doctor was in demand, saved someone, and not everyone was impressed, although I can see why you guys are thinking that the same person got targeted twice, I'm not really sure.

3rd paragraph - Possibly someone getting poisoned and will die tomorrow night.

4th paragraph - A tracker or similar failing at finding anything.

5th paragraph - Cult or something along those lines.

I don't really have a lot to add to what I said about everyone late yesterday. It seems like everyone wants to hear from Varun, so I think we just get him to reveal what he knows.

Simon needs to get more involved today as well, because he hasn't really added anything/helped us at all so far.

I totally agree we need more activity from Simon. He has been lurking around, posting just enough to make himself look active, a typical mafia trait.

Should I role claim?

I don't have much analysis for the writeup. It's pretty confusing and could be anything that has been suggested.

I feel the WC/language issue has been a bit overplayed, especially by thedon.

I just meant his english isn't the best, it's good enough to contribute and understand what's going on. Just discounting him is a bit foolish as it gives him a reason to just keep quiet. We should try and press him for a couple of answers/a claim, not just discount him as nothing.
