Bangladesh vs Australia - Test Match 1

Bangladesh hold till Lunch

M. Islam and M. Rafique have gave Bangladesh all the hope in the world of defeating Australia in the 1st Test match. Islam and Rafique have brought Bangladesh to 180 for 8 at lunch on the 3rd day and is limiting the batting time for Australia.
Too bad for Rafique that he was dismissed right before the lunch break, but those 2 players put on a great partnership that has gave Bangladesh a 186 run lead on Australian at the moment. Islam who started slowly at his innings has now started to get going. 45 not out is Islam at the Lunch break, but has look to tire in the last overs before lunch. Rafique who went out by quick Stuart Clark made 37 from 136 balls, including a game high 5 boundaries. Rafique found it easy to find the gaps against Australia out there today, and is happy enough for what he has achieved and what he has done for his team today.
Islam who will have a very light lunch, would not want to get out after the break, after his great morning session. Islam has smacked 4 boundaries so far in the match, and Bangladesh fans will be hoping he can go on and make the 50, and more if Bangladesh are going to have any chance.

The Aussies will be hoping to get the 2 wickets very easrly after the lunch break, as they would of been dissapointed in their efforts just conceeding 1 wicket for the morning session which was 2 hours long. Stuart Clark was the man that got the wicket of the dangerous Rafique. The new ball was offered to Australia in the 80th over, and Ponting decided to take the new ball. As soon as Ponting made that decision, he bough in Stuart Clark and Brett Lee back into the fray. Clark was bowling at the time, and as soon as they took the new ball, Clark bowled the ball and picked up a wicket with the first bowl of the new ball. Australia would of been happy to take the new ball at that stage and have taken an important wicket. Australia's bowlers have been steady and important in this match so far, with 3 players taking 2 wickets each, Lee, Clark and Watson all taking 2 wickets, while both Tait and Michael Clarke have taking single.

Things now look in shape to be a good afternoon session we are about to see. Will Bangladesh go on and make it difficult for Australia to chase and make over 200 for them to chase, or will Australia with the new ball, get the 2 batsman out quickly and start their run chase early and have a day and a half to chase it down, we will see shortly.

Bangladesh Vs Australia - Test 1

Bangladesh give Ausrtralia 206 runs to win

Bangladesh have gave the Australian's a traget of 206 runs to win in the 1st Test Match. Bangladesh, led by Islam really played good in the batting Innings. 199 all out in their 2nd Innings which was better from 188 in their 1st Innings, and now Australia have the task of chasing down 206 to win. The Scoreboard shows that Islam and Rafique were Bangladesh's better players in the 2nd Innings, and for the Aussies bowling, Stuart Clark took 3 wickets and spinner Michael Clarke took 2 wickets.
All things are in ready now, and Australia will be loooking to get out of the blocks early, with Hayden and Gilchrist opening the batting.

Manjural Islam was Bangladesh's savour in the 2nd Innings. Islam was at the crease for 257 minutes, th most of any Bangladesh plater so far. Islam just 21 years old, has dominated againsr the Aussies making 60 not out in the 1st Test Match. Islam was lucky though, beacsue once or twice there Islam could of been called out, but the umpire didnt decide to take him out just yet. Their was one LBW decidsion that could of went either way, but Islam was just outside leg when the ball hit the pads and was called not out.
Islam played well for his 60 runs not out at the end of the Innings. 187 balls he faced, so he was on a strike reate of 26.73, and smashed 5 boundaries along his way. A dominating performance from Islam which has given Bangladesh all the hope in the world of beating Australia today.

Australia's bowling stats were good overall. Although they need to make a difference in the Batting, they really bowled well, and could of been facing a bigger score to chase. Brett Lee was good early in the piece, and is now cementing himself as Australia's number 1 bowler, and really showed he can be that today. Shane Watson, the all rounder was also consitant with his line and length, has been known to be wayward of late, but really had his game on today. Watson himself bowled 15 overs, just going for 22 runs and taking 2 wickets.
The Spinners, Michael Clarke and Andrew Symonds were also important. Got some good time at bowling as they havent had much of late, and usually in the ODI matches they get there turn, but Ponting gave them a show today and the produced good. Michael Clarke was the better of the 2 tho, bowling 12.2 overs, with 5 Maidens, going for 22 runs and taking 2 wickets. Which gave him a run rate per over of 1.83 the 3rd lowest for Austrlaia.
But the one that really impressed us all at the end of the day was Stuart Clark. Bowling 18 overs, 5 Maidens, going for 42 runs but taking 3 wickets eas crucial. A little high in the run department you would think, but those 3 wickets were crucial in the match.

And now Australia will have their work cut out to chase this total down. They only made 182 in the 1st Innings all out, so they will need to play alot better then what they did in the 1st Innings if they are goin to win this match.

206 to win will be difficult because batting in this game has be difficult so far.

com'on Bangla! :) First 50 runs matters.. if Aussies loose 50/4 or 50/5, Bangla wud surely win or doesnt matter if 100/7 also. ;)

Neat layout and presentation! :clap

Aussies did good but then Bangladesh lower order batsmen saved them. 206 might be tougher than it sounds because Bangladesh did good in the first innings.

Bangladesh vs Australia ( Tea Interval - Day 3)

Tea arrives with Australia needing 151 to win

Australia have pegged back the scoreboard a bit before tea on the 3rd day of the Test match and now need 151 runs to win. At Tea, Australia are 55 for 1 with the only wicket going off Adam Gilchrist.
Australia needed 206 runs to win at the start of their 2nd Innings, and with an hour and a half play before the Tea break, Australia gained 55 runs to take them to 151 to win. Its a good start for Australia and now will be looking to get a good partnerhsip going with the next few players and hopefully to get the win in the 1st Test match of the Tournament

Gilchrist Makes start, but couldnt connect

Adam Gilchrist has blown out of the blocks in the 1st hour of Australia's 2nd Innings of batting. Just before the Tea interval Adam Gilchrist fell for 32. Really getting off the blocks early, Gilchrist really wanted Australia to get off to a good start and then chase down a lower score for the middle order and not having the tail enders having most of the responsibilty. Gilchrist was out in the middle for 48 minutes, and made 32 runs. Gilchrist made basically a run a ball with only facing 40 balls before he was dismissed.
Gilchrist after a shocking 1st Innings making 0, really wanted to show Australia and Warne that he made the right decison in making Gilly bat in the top order. Gilchrist hit 5 boundaries alone the way which now gives Australia a handy start. It was a contreversy decison with Gilchrist, a LBW decision that went wrong, they reply showed he was outside leg stump, but the umpire didnt see that, and gave him out, Hossain the bowler. Australia now 55 for 1 at the Tea interval.

Matthew Hayden was opening the batting with Gilchrist and he has made a slowish start to his Innings, but has played well for his 13 that he has made. Hayden after a good 1st Innings making 31, has now started again to look the danger man for Australia. Facing around the same amount of balls as Gilchrsit did, facing 42 balls, only hitting the 1 boudary at the moment, but now has the Captain Ricky Ponting up the other end, so hopefully for Australia, these 2 men can make a huge partnership and win it for Australia.
Michael Clarke and Andrew Symonds are the 2 next players in line for Australia in the batting order.
