What conditions are you talking about? It wasn't swinging around all over the place, it was seam movement. Clark is a seam bowler hence he got 5 wickets. Without him SA would still be batting right now.

Brilliant performance from Clark as he really stuck to his game, bowled with confidence and didn't let the situation change his approach. It wasn't so much the conducive conditions, but how he extracted what benefited his style and used it effectively. All credit to him, he's worked hard for many years and deserves his opportunity, which he's taken gladly. The Africans didn't make an error in their decision to bat as such, but they didn't really keep focus at crucial stages and were undone by disciplined bowling. Hopefully they strike early with a few wickets to shift the momentum a little.

The reason SA batted was cause they didn't want to face Warne and MacGill (who didn't play) last on this pitch. Conditions although it looked over cast didn't assist the Aussie bowlers. If it did Kasper would have more than 2 wickets.

Very true, and add to that the fact that most side's who bowl first cop a hell of alot in the field and in the media. Look at Edgbaston, Ponting was heavily influenced by the overcast conditions and recent storms (which most people would to be honest) in the area, and opted to field, although subconciously he may have wanted to bat having looked at the wicket. Good to see Smith standing up for what he thought would assist his team, although it ultimately didn't.

the Newlands curator thinks the pitch will flatten today and tomorrow so hopefully we can build a big score.

Symonds will score his maiden test hundred :D

What about 6/9 in your 4th match?

The conditions clearly didn't have the pacemen working terribly hard.

That was Michael Clarke against India right..wow that was as if Clarke was lobbing hand-grenades at indians rather than cricket balls hehe

You try running in at full steam time and time again and not putting your foot over the line.
well if you are bowling that fast it won't make any difference if you make your run up that 1 foot smaller. There is no need to push the crease when bowling, it's just stupid.

Yea I agree but its easier said than done. If there is wind either direction your run up is out.

Anyway good push on by the Aussies nearly at 100 for the loss of Langer. SA have big problems and Warne hasn't even taken a wicket.

Warne must have been claiming that to be true.

Aussies are going great!

Andre Nel has just been introduced

we've managed to deny the africans early wickets on what is still a lively pitch...lets just hope there are no boxing day-style middle order collpases :p

Just unbelievable stuff. I have never seen a batsman get 3 lives in the space of 6 balls. SA only have themselves to blame (and the umpire) unfortunately.
