Australia tour of New Zealand 2010

And Southee does come back for a bowl :) Aren't I psychic :P

Not a fan of North. Aussies game to lose now really. We threw away our chance by not supporting Taylor. Considering his score we at least shoulda got into the 300s. Even so, Vettori was unlucky, Patel bowled well at times but just isn't quite good enough and my man Martin is over the hill sadly. And I even supported him. :( He probably won't get selected again.

Yea they'll hopefully select some new faces for the tour to Bangladesh which I think is our next one?

North has moved things along very nicely, looks set for another 100. Haddin is just smoking them all over the place.

Well just jinxed North! Vettori bowled that ball yesterday, now does it again and gets North. Was pretty funny in the end, NZ really confident, umpire gives it not out, NZ review and North starts walking.

The allrounder's done well this series, solid contribution of 0 from 4 for the series.

Now Hauritz, the true allrounder's gonna gun it, defo.

30 mins after lunch is my guess, no more than that. Give the buggers 500 to chase.

Question- Is Hauritz a better all rounder than Johnson? His stats say he is mighty close, and he's a whole lot more reliable with the bat. Both average 26 with the bat, Johnson 29 with the ball, Hauritz 30.

why aren't they declaring? They can bowl NZ out within 50 overs.

Why give them a chance? They should be conservative with a 1-0 lead.

I'd say it's probably Ross Taylor's first innings demolition job that has them worried. If he gets going again and finds a partner to two, then quick runs could be made.

My first reaction, was that Johnson's got more potential with the bat. But thinking about it, Hauritz has lots of potential too and has a more refined looking technique. I just think that even if you rated them both the same Johnson has to come in first, because he's a worse defender and more probably a little more likely to crack a quick 50-100 than Haury. So he's a bigger risk/bigger reward.

Bollinger on the mark again a big LBW shout but wasted a referral off the first ball.

Even though the stats say they are close, Johnson is way ahead of him in the bowling. Comparing their batting, I would say Hauritz is more consistent and can also score just as quick as Johnson. He might not be as big a hitter as him but hes more than capable of hitting the boundaries.
