Australian management decided to choose these new players keeping in mind the upcoming Border-Gavaskar series and they wanted to test these players on Indian Sub-Continent. Stay tuned for a great match.

Today we got hold of Ponting and he had following comments on new selected players

"I was surprised when I was told that Hayden has been dropped but I think that was right for the team and for Hayden also as he can now again work on his form.
Bracken was always a leading contender for a place in team and I am happy with his selection.
Jacques has impressed everyone with his recent form and I believe that he will be perfect partner for Gilchrist in opening slot.
Thornely is a good solid middle -order batsmen and this is a big time for him as he found his place as a replacement for injured Clarke. I am really excited to work with all these guys and I am sure they all will prove their selection right."

Hello Guys. I am Richard Steve and right now I am standing with the man who has been recently selected for the Final Match of PC Super Cup - Dominic Thornely.

Richard - Welcome Thornely and First of all congratulations on your big selection for the final against England.
Thornely - Thanks Richard

Richard - You must be really excited.
Thornely - Yes I am really excited and I am feeling that I am top of moon right now.

Richard - Do you consider this call as a surprise.
Thornely - Yes I was really surprised when I heard that I have been selected. But I was hoping for a call as I was scoring well in both domestic level as well as England counties. But still selection in national side is like a dream come true.

Richard - What will be your plans for the big final and do you think you can handle the pressure of such a big match.
Thornely - Yes I am sure I can handle this pressure. I know my capabilities and I am really determined to prove my worth in team. As fa as strategies, I will just try to play my natural game and will try to bat according to the situation.

Richard - Thanks for talking with us and Good Luck for your big occassion.
Thornely - Thanks very much Richard.

So those were few words with Dominic Thornely. Catch us again for more details. Thanks for waching. Have a good day.

Good job here by drafting Thornley. He is very good with the bat and a useful seamer as well. And bringing in Bracken is a superb move as he has been the only Aussie bowler who has adapted to the Indian surface in the ODIs.

Today Australian team reached India and landed on the International airport of Kolkatta where they were greeted by huge number of fans and all Australian players looked very happy with this warm welcome. Some Australian playrs like Gillchrist, Mcgrath and Lee stayed at airport signing autographs while other left to get some rest for before tommorrow's practise session.

We got hold of Gillchrist and asked about how he feel on this reception

"Its lovely. Its simply great. I always love India and Indian people. They are great fans of cricket and never let you feel that you are away from home. After seeing this gesture I have forgot all my tiredness and I am really enjoying it."

When asked on his thoughts about final, he said

"Well we have defeated England in last few matches but they are a very good side and it will be a good competition of which I am really excited about."

Hello and welcome everyone to sky sport's live coverage of the final match of the Planetcricket Super Cup Series between Australia and England. I am Michael Slater and right now I am standing in middle of Eden Garden cricket ground off Kolkatta.

Its a lovely day with clear sun shine and we hope a great game of cricket. We have got a tremendous amount of crowd and support here. Now lets here some pitch report.

Pitch is hard and grassless and looks to be rolled very heavilly. A tough pitch for bowlers and they are going to have a really hard time here on a pitch which is full of runs and can be called paradise for batsmen. Any team winning toss will definitely want to bat first and a target of about will make the match very interesting.

Now lets go to the toss where the two captains are waiting for us with Richard Hadlee.

Hadlee: Your call Ricky
Ponting: Heads

And it is Tails and England has won the toss

Hadlee: Congratulations Vaughn. A good toss to win. What will you want to do and any changes in team?
Vaughn: Thanks Richard. We will like to bat first because the pitch looks really good for batting and if we can score around 280-290 then we can put some pressure on Australia. No change in the team that played against India.

Hadlee: Thank You Vaughn and Good luck for the match
Vaughn: Thank You

Hadlee:Bad start for Australia as you lost the toss
Ponting: Yeah we would have liked to bat first but we dont mind chasing too because our team is chasing well since last few matches.

Hadlee: Any changes in the team
Ponting: Yes few change with Jacques, Thornely, Brackes and Watson coming in for Hayden, Clarke, Symonds and Hogg.

Hadlee: Thank You Ponting and Good Luck for the match
Ponting: Thanks Richard

England openers are Strauss and Trescothick and for Australia Mcgrath will start the bowling.

Both openers started off cautiously but then started to put bad balls away with some aggressive batting. Trescothick was particularly attacking as he smashed Mcgrath for a six over long-on. Strauss on the other end was playing as an anchor.

Mcgrath bowled a good line with nice seam with occassional loose balls which Trescothick gave hard treatment. Gillespie was once again economical but struggled to create any kind of trouble for England openers who have looked in some really good form. Ponting gave Bracken the ball in 7th over to try him but he proved unsuccessful in first over.

So at the end of 8 overs, England is looking good with 47 on the board without any loss. Trescothick playing well on 25 off 23 bowls which included a nice six to Mcgrath.
