Australia vs England ODI Series - 7 matches - Sep 4 to Sep 20

WHAYYY! Strauss does it. Now he won't score any runs for the next 50 balls :p

Don't worry guys, they're just getting started, soon they'll be running singles all over the place.

Denly's SR is terrible! He needs to hit out or get out :facepalm

Strauss has been the only reliable batsman for England this whole tour. He's in top form.

But once we get him out, we're into the tail IHMO.

Denly looks very average against good length pace bowling. Struggled against Lee in the last game and until the pull off Siddle looked dodgy against him.

As it was mentioned last night in the Somerset vs Worcs game. The major difference between the county set up and the International game, is the pace around. There aren't too many express bowlers in county and last night you had about 80-83/4 mph bowlers bowling. But come the international stage and you have got people bowling 90-95 mph constantly.

Johnson already drenched his top and it's only been 7 and half overs :p

That's the case in most country's tbf.

shows how much the sky commentators know doesn't it!

holdenator added 5 Minutes and 38 Seconds later...

Take the batting powerplay! NOW NOW NOW!

You do see it quite a lot these days. Young batsmen that haven't faced express pace, 90mph+ seem to get caught in the headlights a lot more. I guess this is down to a lack of quality cricket and player's getting picked for international cricket on the back of 20/20 and one day cricket results. A player like Suresh Raina for example.

What are England's excuses in the middle of games, when the spin and medium pace bowlers are bowling, they face plenty of this in county games , but for me its a bigger problem than the start of games, we have severe lack of good attacking batsman, that can take the pressure off , and put it back on the bowlers.

Really not buying into the excuse David Lloyd has just given for Denly, i can't believe a county cricketer will not have faced an off spin bowler, bowling outside the off stump, and this is why he carnt score off him, if this is true, in my opinion he shouldn't be playing international cricket.Im not knocking Denly havent seen enough of him, just going on David Lloyds comment.
