Batting and Bowling Nets now available in the Cricket Academy

Guys try going one step offside and try bat to legside with slog..Gave some brilliant results..Short ball top edged, french cut [maybe for 4], Inside edge on to the stumps, leading edge [went to offside bat facing towards leg],Slogged towards square leg and that took an edge straight above me over the stumps..Loving this..

Those people who are worried that it's easy to consistently hit the mark while bowling need to understand that in the practice nets, the bowler as well as the batsman probably has maximum attributes for swing footwork etc. That's why the ball swings like crazy. In the full game, the attributes will be much reduced and because of that we won't be able to hit the mark consistently... that's what I understand. Because there is an attribute in bowling named consistency.

@Allrounder18

1. If you feel that batting was not done right just because the pace was either lower or if it is any higher you cant judge the ball...then you can either try to understand that video games have a bit of lag from controller or our reflexes arent as good as Don Bradman to play a 150kmph ball well.
But im pretty sure BA had discussed this in their meetings because it has been discussed very much in the forums. What they come up with will ofcourse be the best that could be done with the existing system.

2. 10hrs to understand the basics is pure shit. You would have hardly played 3-4 matches. Rather what you meant to say was that you learnt the controls.

3. It doesn't matter how much of inputs you give; if you don't know to be constructive and humble about it then it amounts to nothing. Just because Cricket Heros took your input doesnt mean BA needs to listen.

Finally, if you think you can just come in here and boss around calling a person shithead, leave alone the CEO of BA, you should realise that it wouldn't take a second thought to call you more than that. But looking at some of your posts, I realise, you yourself have nothing in the head but...fill that yourself.

Hmm so imitating real life sports in to a video game is stupid ? Hmm so that's why NFL ,NBA ,Fifa spending millions in getting mocop and other attention to detail right because they are stupid. Glad you are not a chairman of these organizations.

OK. ...so reading is not your strong point. Not too bright eh? As I wrote before.....every game you mentioned is trying to get close to real life experience (though they are still nowhere close to it) however main priority is to make it playable first....it's a video game at the end of the day.

Anyways....if you think Fifa imitates real football, I have nothing else to say....you just proved my point for me.

I was just here with genuine wish to improve the game and make it as close to real cricklet , hence I give various ideas in the light of my cricket gaming experience (including DBC14 and DBC17 nets) I had so far , but I was harshly treated by Ross for no apparent reason , not playing DBC14 enough is definitely not the reason to get bashed, instead he could have politely said that common mate you should bring out your copy and have a game time so that you can understand better and then post constructively but he definitely hasn't done that so calling him a shithead is nothing but fair.

And on fifa talks , I mean to say that with every increment these guys tries to be more authentic and realistic by capturing player likenesses , upgrading gfx etc. What contradiction you are talking about?

And if itsn't for realism they would have stuck with the two button control scheme one for shoot and one for pass and wouldn't have introduced trick stick and other fancy stuff which real life football players do.

But every game tries to get their basics right , in football you have score goal and players move with certain speed and momentum close to real life , in basket ball you need to score basket with players dunking and blocking close to their real life counterparts , Hence in cricket you need to score runs and take wicket with the game speed close to real life , all other major cricket games in the past has manage to do that so why on earth this game can't and even its Ok if the developers doesn't want it to be that way but whats the point in bashing someone who doesn't agree with this philosophy??? you guys are just jumping on the wagon without using your senses.

Really enjoying the update with the nets. Batting feels a lot better. Really like the fact that you can move into position before the ball much more than you could in DBC14. It would be nice if you could move forwards and backwards rather than just laterally so that you could bat out of your crease as well. Generally batting feels like it gives much more control over placement and I like the fact that nets practice evaluates feet, timing and shot selection. Really like the advancing toggle...I can now do advancing shots to quicks! I am getting a ton of edges when I don't get things right...so that is very promising.

Bowling fast feels a lot easier with the new controls. As I have spent hundreds of hours bowling wrist spin in DBC14, I also like the control changes here. I know that spin is in need of a tweak or two but the control options look promising with bounce and flight being a characteristic of the selected delivery rather than tied to a particular delivery type. Does anyone know whether the level of flight or bounce selected remains in place for subsequent deliveries or does it need to be re-selected for each ball? Does anyone know what 'Reset' means on the flight-bounce menu and how you access it? Of course in the current deployment drift is way over the top (I really can't bowl a legbreak that isn't a wide) and there isn't any discernible spin but I know these will get sorted out...I really am hoping for more genuine turn for spinners in DBC17.

One thing I have noticed with the spin controls is that sometimes you need to rotate the LS clockwise and sometimes anti-clockwise for the same delivery (albeit with changes to flight or bounce)...what is the reasoning behind this? As I tend to bowl without HUD in matches...it would make things very difficult not knowing which way to rotate LS.

Like the new animations...but would like Pro camera back for batting.

"I want it to be like real life"... Followed by "Concentrating too hard gives me a headache and I want more visual cues (despite not even noticing the ones already available)" :lol. Playing 10 hours of the last game and pretending to be able to give constructive feedback is ridiculous, as is the extent of the dislike of DBC14 considering the time he's been a member here (since 2006) - no other cricket game ever (and especially since 2006) has been anywhere near the standard of DBC14.

Despite it's rough edges and imperfections, DBC14 is the most playable, realistic and complete cricket game by a huge margin. If anyone thinks differently and wants to name another cricket title they prefer, they'd have a tough time convincing me they're not a very strange individual.

Without Big Ant bringing us DBC, cricket gaming would still be totally dead. Even if for whatever reason you didn't like DBC14, you should at least be appreciative and respectful enough to make sure that when you make criticisms that they are at least well founded, based on legitimate observations and presented in a constructive way. If you come here and post bullshit having barely played the game, you can expect to be called out on it.

@Allrounder18 - You can't even admit you've been an idiot and accept it. Ross called a spade a spade, pointing out the stupidity of your comments and you resort to name calling in reponse for no good reason. He was justified in that you'd made dumb baseless criticisms about a project he and his team have dedicated their time and money into, your name calling in response seems like it's just because you're butthurt about not getting a typically placid PR response from a CEO.

Also, listing FIFA among a list of supposedly realistic/lifelike sports games is hilarious really.

1)Both problems (too much concentration and real life bowling speed) can be solved by introducing last split second pitch marker.
3)I never bashed DBC 14 or act disrespectful to this game or any member in the last decade ,(I just stated my opinions that I didn't like DBC 14 because of the so and so reason and that definitely doesn't get count as bashing.
2)Plz stop ass licking the developers because they are the only ones who make cricket games.

See first of all never try to justify calling names on anyone. A person might be harsh to you but to drop a word is crossing the line. Remember, your freedom to swing your arms ends where my nose begins. No good comes out of escalating a situation.

Now, the reason you got such a harsh reaction from everyone one of us is that you tell us you played 10hrs to very well understand the basics AND you had no idea about the reticule over the ball. Ross would have been happy to listen if you had sincerely played those 10hours and could have shared well reasoned feedbacks although you would have lacked the understanding of another person who played 400hrs and above. Not even close. You simpy asked for it by being too cocky yourself.
You can still make sense by being harsh but calling names is just downright cheap. DOT.

The way FIFA plays is not how football actual plays. Its a pretty good video game version though. And you should go see the comments made on fifa, how they dont listen to the users much or sell the same game wih a few modification every year.
And if you are saying BA hasnt improved much, how would you know? You just played 10hrs. And cricket isnt played in nets.

Where did I said that? Infact on my DBC17 nets review I give it a solid 8.5 because its improved leaps and bound over DBC14.
I didn't posted any negative comments in DBC14 forum infact haven't posted much at all because I was not following it, it just I posted here and stating my reason for not liking DBC14 so that they can be removed/improved over to DBC17 , Has I committed a crime?
